Beast Hunter World: Attire & Monsters

Monster Hunter X Bloodborne

UPDATE 2024:

Hello everyone, I apologize for the long delay in updates. I've had health issues for the past while now, but I still plan to release new updates.

First up is the standard Hunter Set, which has been given an overhaul with much more natural cloak physics and improved normal maps for better detail. There are also now additional versions of Hunter Set B with collar up, collar down, and unfolded coat sleeves with shorter gloves.

There is also a replacement for Leon and Claire in the forms of Father Gascoigne's beast transformation and the Plain Doll.

Kestodons have been replaced with Old Yharnam Beasts and transformed huntsman beasts as well. Be on the look out for more soon.

Instructions:
Greetings, Hunters! This is a massive, ongoing project, so please be patient as more is coming, including screenshots.

- Armor Sets will all be labeled in the downloads section as Attire and will be split up and come with any required files. This way if I need to upload any updated versions, you can just download the one file.

- Head Pieces have a custom evhl to make them fit the more slender style of equipment rather than risk warping the attire.

Additionally, there is a general purpose male head replacer so that the neck is thinner to help prevent clipping as best as possible, but it won't be perfect because MH heads, especially male, are stupidly big compared to the Bloodborne attire's proportions.  I can't guarantees on matching vanilla equipment or some minor clipping in poses or cinematics, even with these sets because of the massive differences between games.

- Torso pieces are mostly all in one. Subsequently, wst slots are either going to be accessories like the Hand Lantern, side weapons like the Cainhurst Chikage, what would have been the leg pieces in Bloodborne like the Bone Ash skirt, or capes like the Charred Hunter set. I can't guarantee that there won't be clipping because each set has been posed and modified individually while also trying to fit with MHW's "skeletons" for armor.

- Bloodborne Slingers are included with each attire set alongside all texture files, so if you download another attire mod or the weapon mods, the weapon textures are identical, then you can either keep them or overwrite it doesn't matter. In the event that I do have to update any of the textures, I will update all of the affected files.

- Due to the way vanilla MHW handles the dye system on some of the upcoming layered sets, I highly recommend the Armor Discoloration Removal Mod by Silvris for them to work properly, mostly affecting individual headpieces replacing vanilla earrings, masks, ect.

- Future sets will be added, alongside an upcoming additional sister mod covering Dark Souls armor, weapons, and monsters.

Monsters and endemic life will be under "Miscellaneous Files" because M = Monsters. Also organization since there aren't any other options to separate mod categories within a mod project.

- Weapons will be identified by Weapon in the download file names. Because of how many weapons there will be and how complex the project has grown, I was debating on how to handle this, but for the sake of simplicity, I will continue updating this one mod.

- Weapons will eventually be in packs covering all of the weapons, containing all of the necessary files based on the Bloodborne type with each of the Monster Hunter weapon types that apply, and the above on duplicate textures applies.

- E.g. if you download the Saw Cleaver package, the Hunter Pistol textures are included, so if you download another package that includes them, you can either overwrite or not replace them because they're the same exact files.

- Due to the large number of weapons and weapon combinations (shields, offhand, ect.), only the primary weapon will be listed with the secondary in parenthesis below.

- The "Emblem" folder for weapons covering base metal (or bone, Kulve) weapons is just to get rid of the floating Guild emblem that would otherwise be there.

FAQ:

Q: When are the rest of the sets coming/weapons/monsters/updates? Are you going to improve/fix X or Y? When is the Dark Souls mod coming? Ect.
A: I just got hit with a lot of serious, personal life stuff at the moment, so please bear with me.

Posing and re-weighting is already a cursed process, and converting the models is in and of itself potentially cursed, and things like hands might need extra attention for anything outside of the general gameplay animations (poses in particular), but that's lower priority than just getting the more difficult aspects working within the confines of MHW. Cloth and capes are another absolute nightmare that MHW hates, and I'll just leave it at that.

Q: Why do some of the sets clip when I mix them?
A: That's pretty much a consequence of having to (1) pose each set individually to match MHW's armor "skeletons," which have much different proportions, (2) having to then adjust the sets because of the MHW character's proportions, and (3) Bloodborne and Dark Souls more dynamic systems that actually utilize multiple versions of the same equipment depending on what the player is wearing. MHW does not have such a system, so there's not much I can do there.

Q: Are you going to add more pictures?
A: Yes, with time. There is a lot to cover, especially with weapons.

Q: Some of the monsters have sharp/awkward animations or jank like in cutscenes...
A: I know, the Blood-Starved Beast is the most guilty of this and I'm going to work on smoothing out the flesh, but during gameplay it's strangely not as bad as the ebony odogaron introduction cutscene. That one in particular suffered some really difficult curses to work past just on the conversion process, and it was a miracle to get it working for odo's base at all.
*I'm working on a fix for the Blood-Starved Beast that is making really good strides, but needs further testing, and I need to add a tail-cut model.

Q: Can you do X, Y, Z sets?
A: In line with the above, I'm probably getting there because there is a ton in the pipeline. Again, this month year has been an absolute nightmare, so progress has been rocky. As it is, I'm always trying to improve each of the sets, weapons, and monsters, but it takes a lot of time and trial and error.

Q: Can you add X, Y, Z weapon versions?
A: I'm trying to cover as much as my sanity will allow, especially with how complicated some of the Bloodborne weapons are, and then on top of that transferring them to MHW (I'm looking at you, threaded cane). Many more are already either done, in the final tweaking phases, or will be expanded to more MHW weapon categories. The above is just a taste of what's on the horizon.

Lastly, I've been having trouble accessing the Nexus messages and I'm swamped at the moment with life stuff, so my focus at the moment is continuing updates on this and soon the Dark Souls mod.
