YES, I WILL BE PORTING THIS TO MONSTER HUNTER WILDS
PLEASE BE PATIENT AS TOOLS DEVELOP AND I TRY TO FIGURE THEM OUT AGAIN AS IT'S BEEN AWHILE LOL

Fluffier fox ears with physics, darkened-tip color option, and optional dyeable hair material for better shading. REPLACES INNERWEAR ALPHA ARMS.

DISCLAIMER: All promo gifs and images use the Hair material but the main download uses the Standard material. (Except the male/female preview)
See below about using the hair material for an improved look.

Armor featured in the promos is not included anymore, please don't ask me for it.

2.0 FEATURES
  • Double the polycount, making the model appear fluffier and full.
  • Proper angle limit directions should keep the tail in a natural flow. It will also no longer flick around in high speed situations (like flying into the Fatalis stage from camp)
  • Capability for darkened tips as an optional material file.
  • Capability for dyeable Hair material rather than the flat Standard shader used previously. It does require minor user input (file renaming) to get working.
  • Assigned to arm slot by default now allows the inner ear skin to automatically adopt the player skin tone. Bare hands by default but simple gloves are included as an option.
  • Fox ears cover human ears. No 4 ears here.
  • Male and female files included.
It is being uploaded as a separate mod instead of an update to the original because the difference between the two is significant enough. People may still prefer the original so I am not replacing it.

INSTALLATION
  • Open the zip folder and copy the nativePC folder inside.
  • Navigate to your MHW installation folder (where the .exe is located. This is
usually in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Monster Hunter
    World").
  • Paste the nativePC in there.

CHANGE HANDS TO GLOVES

  • Install the mod normally and ensure it's showing properly in game.
  • Navigate to the folder the mod uses. It will look like "...\Monster Hunter World\nativePC\pl\f_equip\pl500_0000\arm\mod".
  • Delete "f_arm500_0000.mod3".
  • Rename "f_arm500_0000__hands_gloves.mod3" to "f_arm500_0000.mod3". You may want to make a backup/copy before renaming.
  • Reload the armor in game.

CHANGE STANDARD MATERIAL TO HAIR MATERIAL

  • Install the mod normally and ensure it's showing properly in game.
  • Navigate to the folder the mod uses. It will look like "...\Monster Hunter World\nativePC\pl\f_equip\pl500_0000\arm\mod".
  • Delete "f_arm500_0000.mrl3".
  • Rename "f_arm500_0000___hairMAT_solid_alpha.mrl3" to "f_arm500_0000.mrl3" to enable the hair material. You may want to make a backup/copy before renaming.
  • Equip the Pulverizing Feather helm to enable dye.
  • Reload the armor in game.

If you would like to use a different helm but still dye the hair material:

  • Navigate to "...\Monster Hunter World\nativePC\pl\f_equip\pl037_0000\helm\mod".
  • Change the ID of the containing folder and .evhl file from "037" to an ID of your choice using this list: https://github.com/Ezekial711/MonsterHunterWorldModding/wiki/Armor-IDs. For example, if you wanted to use the Sealed Dragon Cloth scarf, you would change the 037 to 100. The .evhl file within the folder retains all aspects of your hair (no full helms, only accessories recommended) and allows the alpha armor slot to dye the hair material on the arms. If you unequip this helm, you won't be able to dye the fur anymore and the color may be unpredictable. YOUR HELM MUST BE EQUIPPED WITH THIS .EVHL TO KEEP THE DYE.
  • Restart the game to ensure a reloaded .evhl.

CHANGE TO DARKENED TIPS

  • Install the mod normally and ensure it's showing properly in game.
  • Navigate to the folder the mod uses. It will look like "...\Monster Hunter World\nativePC\pl\f_equip\pl500_0000\arm\mod".
  • Delete "f_arm500_0000.mrl3".
  • Rename "f_arm500_0000___standardMAT_tipped_alpha.mrl3" or "f_arm500_0000___hairMAT_tipped_alpha.mrl3" to "f_arm500_0000.mrl3". You may want to make a backup/copy before renaming. Standard or Hair material will be personal preference. See above on how to use Hair material.
  • Reload the armor in game.

This mod is being released as-is. The game is kinda dead and I'm sure MH6 is right around the corner. I had this finished a few months ago but never got around to releasing it. Figured I finally had a moment of downtime so I'd try to throw it up here real quick. I am also out of the house for weeks at a time without access to my PC so I can't make quick changes or updates. I apologize if you're looking for something like separated pieces or technical advice and I can't get around to it. Thanks!
