About this mod
An unmodded save set directly before you accept your first quest.

This save skips the ship scene, the zorah magdaros scene and everything up until you accept your first quest. I went with the default male character (named Jim), default palico (named Dragonator), and default weapon.
Installation:
If you want to edit your Palico, you'll need to use a Cheat Engine Table (found here) and fiddle with the settings, which don't appear to be visible until a reload (which can be done by going into your room). There's also the Free Character Edit Voucher, but as the page says it can only be used to edit one character once.
Installation:
- Download mod and unzip. I recommend 7-Zip but you can use whatever you like, so long as it can unzip .zip files.
- Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<user ID>\582010\remote, or wherever you have Steam installed (this here is the default location for windows).
- Drop the two files you extracted into the folder, they should be "SAVEDATA_B" and "SAVEDATA1000". As far as I know you only need the second one, but I included both just to be safe.
- Now you need to make these saves work with your Steam Profile. Go to this website and paste your Steam profile url into the box (there are better, more detailed guides on how to find this elsewhere). You'll want your steamID64, a 17, digit number. Copy it.
- Download AsteriskAmpersand's save editor and open your save. Replace the SteamID there with the 17-digit string you copied earlier.
- Save the file to the location in step 1, select "yes" to overwrite the existing file, and wait for it to save then close the editor.
- Boot up the game and the save should work for you.
