I don't think Resdayn is supposed to be that beautiful... colorful, vibrant and pleasant. Although a nice rendition of the place, it could be easily mistaken for Cyrodiil. The original concept from Daggerfall describes Morrowind as a place of ashes, lava and vast moors.... similar to Mordor. Definitetly not like this.
It looks a bit like Cyrodiil, I agree, but as far as I know, West Gash is referred to as scrublands. Even though the trees look a bit off, I think its quite fitting. Also, if I recall correctly, Cyrodiil was intended to be a swamp, not the lush, modereate forest you know from TES IV...
It first decribed by Micheal Kirkbride as an endless Jungle, with plains around the Imeprial City, marsches to the south and a southern european landscape in Colovia (not sure on that one)
