Backstory:

Vermiah S'than was a young Dunmer born to a lower-class family in County Cheydinhal in Cyrodiil. Unlike most other Dunmer families, her parents were staunch supporters of the Empire & devout followers of the Nine Divines, something that Vermiah quickly took after. At age 19, her parents contracted an unknown yet deadly disease that was slowly killing them. Despite her parents insisting that there wasn't likely to be a cure for what they had, Vermiah was insistent on finding one.

For a while, Vermiah would do various odd jobs around the county, spending half of her earnings on essential supplies while putting the other half aside to save up money to buy disease cures from the local alchemist. Yet as her parents grew weaker, Vermiah grew increasingly desperate to save her parents, turning to various illegal activities such as smuggling to earn enough money for more disease cure potions.

At the last moment, she resorted to breaking into the house of a wealthy noble family & stole a sizable portion of their money in order to buy numerous disease cures. Yet when she returned home, her parents were only minutes away from death. After staying with her parents in their final moments, she would use the money she had left to pay for a funeral service. After the funeral was over with, her guilt would overcome her & she would turn herself into the local authorities to atone for the many crimes she had committed.

Due to the sheer amount of crimes she had committed, she was sent off to the Imperial City Prison, where she would spend several months in confinement. Eventually, she was shipped off to Vvardenfell under orders of Emperor Uriel Septim himself, thus beginning the events of Morrowind.



In-Game Story:

Because of her Imperial upbringing, Vermiah is a staunch Imperial loyalist & a devout follower of the Nine Divines. Due to this, she will choose to join House Hlaalu & House Redoran while avoiding House Telvanni as much as possible. In addition, she will join the Imperial Legion & Imperial Cult, helping both factions to spread the ideals & values of the Empire throughout Morrowind as much as possible.

While she respects the beliefs of the Tribunal Temple & Ashlander Tribes, she looks down upon many of their practices. She especially despises their practice of slavery, & will gladly assist the Twin Lamps in helping as much slaves as possible escape to freedom. She is a selfless & kind-hearted individual, refusing to do any jobs that may harm innocents, & will always help those in need.
