Knef's original message from 2013: "Greetings, forumites. I was wandering by the forums today and thought that I could release this little mod, as it has been sitting on my HD for a while now, and I don't think I will work on it further, at least not in the foreseeable future. This is a pluginless replacer for Fire- and Frost-type Area-o-effect spells: essentially, it replaces the explosions effect with something that I think looks a little better.
Knef was understating their work here. In my mind, these have always been the prettiest fire and frost area effect replacers, until Kurpillo eventually redoes all of Morrowind's spell effects!
It's still available here: https://web.archive.org/web/20161103112831/http://mw.modhistory.com/download-56-14898
But who knows for how long, and probably not very visible to your average Morrowind fan.
