About this mod

Museum display cases, shelving units, and other models created for my personal museum mod plus some shop-related models created, but not (yet) used for other mods I'm working on. This is a growing collection and I'll add to it periodically.

This is a collection of random meshes I've created for my personal museum mod plus many miscellaneous meshes I've created for shops and other mods I'm working on.  I didn't intend on creating a resource pack so it may not be the most organized modder's resource ever released.  It started as "let me tweak this one display a bit' and snowballed.  That said, I have tried to follow the general organizational structure started by Bethesda but contained in a custom folder for easy removal.

THIS ADDS NOTHING TO YOUR GAME.  The .esp has a test cell and the items for easy viewing but you must add these items via a mod to your game.

There is a LOT of 'kit-bashing' and 'texture-bashing' in this set.  If this bothers you, move along.

It's heavy on the bashing because 1) I wanted things to coordinate and 2) why reinvent the wheel for every single item?  I love unique items but not everything has to have a unique mesh. It's a balancing act to be sure.

This is still only a fraction of what I've created for my game, I have a full tileset and at least a hundred or so other meshes that I'll release later on.  There is a floor & one wall from the tileset used for the test cell.  If you really want the rest now, message me (not comment).  There are no window pieces but I finally created the door cutout!

  • No base-game textures are overwritten & only a few meshes link to any base game textures (deliberately).  ALL of the textures are located in a folder called "sig".
  • There are many new textures including some that aren't (yet) in use in any of the resources provided so far.  You are free to use those as you see fit which is why I included them.
  • All textures (in use) have bump maps and all meshes have the bump mapped textures added.
  • There are horizontal & vertical versions of several wood textures.  Sometimes it's easier to rotate the damn texture than it is to rotate all the elements of the UV map (rotating the whole UV map sometimes creates issues if the UV map had a lot of complexity to it).

The Display Cases

These cases come from Tamriel_Data and OAAB_Data. I kit-bashed the hell out of them.

These are all located in the Containers tab of the CS, just as the TData & OData version.

  • All case variations come in a variety of wood types & fabric colors.
  • All cases animate exactly how the originals do.
  • Most of the variations now use a combined texture for the lock & hinges called "lockset" (it used to be 3 separate textures).
  • I included a tutorial in the Docs folder to walk you through creating your own cases (no animation or scripting knowledge needed!)

Variation 1:   These are identical to the TData / OData cases except the fabric interior is FLAT.   The bottom of the original case was raised slightly in the middle creating an odd angle when you wanted something to lay flat.  That drove me nuts so I flattened it out.

Variation 2:   The 'jewelry display' case - same case as above but without the base part.  If you scale it down a bit, it can be placed very nicely on countertops.

Variation 3:   This features the 3 steps, each containing little round risers.  The interior of the case is no longer linked to the wood texture, it's linked to the fabric texture.  The stepped riser case was designed based on the display cases found in the National Museum in Prague.  They have a magnificent gem & mineral collection that is displayed in cases very similar to this.  I created this case for the gem & mineral wing of my museum, I included a screenshot from a  a test in my museum mod.  I just wish I could make the black wood look a bit more aged.

Variation 4:  I just deleted the little round risers lol.

The Cherrywood Collection

The large display cases with the glass tops were inspired by the cases made by Lady E, as found in The Wanderer's Pocket Display Museum.  I just wanted the bases to match the other displays so I made my own.  I also made my own versions of the glass tops that are a bit taller than the versions in the Pocket Museum.  My display bases also have fabric padding on the top.  Those cases uses the same script that TW used which was created by Viking Lord.  When you click on them, they rise up & hover for a several seconds, then come back down.  On the back wall on a shelf is a small bell jar display that uses a variation of the same script but the top doesn't go up as high.

The box in front of the glass-top displays I use for mannequins.

Random alchemy & alcohol meshes
.

These are some of the meshes that were made for Vintage Morrowind v3.0.....I'm still working on 2.0 so I figured I'd release these now as someone might find them useful.
