More Dynamic Water Meshes for OpenMW


Based on the original idea from Epoch's OpenMW Distortion Effects


Uses the OpenMW distortion shader to apply animated normal maps to static water meshes, to (hopefully) create the illusion of a more 3D moving water surface, compared to their normal unnaturally flat appearance.

I've uploaded a screenshot of the soft particle and distortion effect, but the animated effect can only really be demonstrated by viewing in-game. Screenshot is of the fountain in Old Ebonheart. Another good place to check out the water animation effect is the Boethiah waterfalls.


Make sure to enable the Post Processing and Soft Particles options in the OpenMW game launcher.
