Bubble Crabs (for MWSE)

by Svergy

Info

Inspired by MISTERSMELLIES' mod, this is a replacer for vanilla mudcrabs which gives them a bubbling foam around their mouths. In real life, you can see crabs with a similar bubbly foam.

Sometimes some of these bubbles will float off.

This requires MWSE because it uses the NiSortAdjustNode which has improved function in MWSE. Using flag 64, it's possible for multiple overlapping particle effects to spawn from the same emitter without there being any annoying flickering.

You can probably use it in OpenMW too but you may see unsightly zfighting between the particles. Try it out and let me know!

Install Instructions

This replacer is not compatible with any other mudcrab replacer.

Drop the 'Data Files' folder into your Morrowind directory. When given the option to merge, select yes.

To uninstall, delete the xcavemudcrab.nif file inside of the 'r' folder inside of the meshes folder.

---

If you want these effects on a different mudcrab replacer (Nifskope/Modder Knowers Only):

Open up this mod's .nif file and your intended replacer's xcavemudcrab.nif file, in Nifskope 1.1.3.

You will have to paste the 'Bubble Emitter' node (found beneath the Bone03 node) from this mod's .nif into your crab replacer's Bone03 node, and then copy and paste the 'NonFlickerSetting' node from this mod's .nif Bone03 into your crab replacer's Bone03 node.

Make sure you paste it into the xcavemudcrab.nif when you do this; it is the mesh that deploys all the geometry and particle effects.

If your replacer includes its own effects that use a timer, you need to make sure the nodes you paste over from this mod have all of their timers changed to match the final time on your replacer's timeline.
