Engage in one-on-one duels with enemy lords during battles. If you win, the enemy lord is killed post-battle. Lose, and there's a risk your character is killed. Customize settings for duel zones, kill chances, and troop morale effects.

The Lord of Duels mod allows you to engage in thrilling one-on-one duels with enemy lords on the battlefield. By holding down the Left Alt + U key, you can challenge an enemy lord to a duel. Choose lord to duel against by cycle through enemy lords on the battlefield by pressing Left Alt + H.
If you win, the enemy lord can be killed after the battle and you can also choose in mod settings it troops will flee. If you lose the duel to the enemy lord, there is a risk that your character will be killed after the battle (this can be disabled in settings).

Fixed issue where info message tells AI/Player Lord have died but the setting of that is turned off.

Added "Elden lord" difficulty setting, causing the entire losing army to flee if their lord dies. Duel logic now only triggers during active duels, and lords dismount before duels if enabled.
Here is the new health points for each difficulty:

Winning against a captain will make 50% of his/her formation flee (if option is on).

Known issue: Mod crashes game at start (if this happens to you, read below for a solution). Fleeing units sometimes won't disappear.

Detailed Description: This mod enhances the battlefield experience by introducing a unique duel mechanic:
  • Initiating a Duel: Select enemy lord by first Hold down alt and press H until you find the lord you want to duel against. The army commander will have title "General" before its name. Then Hold down Left Alt and press the U key to challenge the enemy lord. This can only be done during field battles.
  • Winning the Duel: If you defeat the enemy lord, they will be killed after the battle, adding a significant victory to your campaign.
  • Losing the Duel: If you lose the duel to the enemy lord (i.e., the enemy lord delivers the killing blow), there is a 60% chance you will be killed after the battle. If not, you survive but with the defeat hanging over you.
  • The winning/losing effects will only apply if the opponent lord makes the last "killing blow", i.e. if you having a duel and some other soldiers kills you nothing will happen by the effects of this mod. Same goes if player allys kills your oppenent. 
  • If conditions are met from mod settings and are enabled, mod will call a native method that will kill the lord, i.e. after battle the killed in battle animation will show and the native code will handle the case the way it handles a character/hero being killed in battle ordinarly. If you have game option that hereos/companions cannot die, this mod will not take that into consideration. 
  • Troops morale decreased: The morale of the losing side's forces will decrease if their lord is killed, making some troops to flee.
  • Duel zone: When enabled in settings, the zone gets activated when your opponent is getting close to you, keep that in mind because you can start a duel but be attacked by other soldiers until the zone is activated. A message in bottom left screen will tell you when the zone is activated/deactivated. It's getting deactivated when one of the duelist win. Mounted enemy lords will dismount close to the duel zone.  
  • Mod Options:
    • Duel zone to keep soldiers from disturbing. Archers will still be able interrupt and can target the duelist from long range.
    • The enemy lord will not use long-range weapons (Enabled by default).
    • The player’s lord can be killed (Enabled by default).
    • The AI lord can be killed (Enabled by default).
    • There is a X% risk that the player’s and enemy lord will be killed on defeat (Default value: 60%).
    • Troops will flee upon defeat based on the selected difficulty setting (Disabled by default). If the army general dies, the following percentages of the entire army will flee: Standard - 20%, Challenge - 33%, Lord of War - 50%, and Immortal - 100%. However, if the lord is only the captain of a formation, 50% of the troops in that specific formation will flee.
    • Boost Enemy General Health points, combined with enabled option Troops will flee on defeat, more troops will flee the more difficult you choose. Standard is game's default value.

Installation Instructions:

  • Download the mod file.
  • Extract the contents of the mod file.
  • Place the extracted folder into the "Modules" folder of your Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord directory (usually found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\Modules).
  • Launch the game and enable the mod in the launcher.

If mod makes game crash at start
Bannerlord says the error "Cannot load: ..\..\modules\LordOfDuels\bin\win64_shipping-client\LordOfDuels.dll"

1. Go to Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\Modules\LordOfDuels\bin\Win64_Shipping_Client
2. Right click to lordofduels.dll, click Properties
3. Click Unblock on the bottom. You are all set. 

Credits: Before I did this mod I tried all the current duel mods but unfortunetly none worked at that time. So I did this mod and thanks to Battle Duels by vukh29 I found out how to make a lord target the player character.
