AGE OF WOE is a modification set in the Warhammer Fantasy universe, more specifically in the time period now known as The Old World.
To the inhabitants of the setting, the time is simply one of war unending.
It is a dark age, a bloody age, an age of daemons and of sorcery. It is an age of battle and death, and of the world's ending. Amidst all of the fire, flame and fury it is a time, too, of mighty heroes, of bold deeds and great courage.
At the heart of the Old World sprawls the Empire of Man, once the largest and most powerful of the human realms. But since the assasination of Mandred Skavenslayer, the empire has been fractured.
In the north lies Kislev, a bulwark against Chaos. But lately, the raids from the Kurgan have grown more frequent.
To the south-east is the bickering lands of the Border Princes, and to the west of these lie the warring city-states of Tilea and Estalia.
And across the Grey Mountains lie fair Bretonnia, the most stable and united realm of man.
But in the far north come rumblings of war. The beastmen stir in the woods, their raids and attacks ever increasing. The cultists who worship the dread powers of the far north grow bolder.
FEATURES
A brand new map encompassing all of the Old World.
Many new scenes, amongst them the marshes of Hel Fen, the blighted svamps of Skavenblight, the moors of the Hagercrybs and the Barrows of Cuileux.
Close to a thousand new items, spanning imperial breastplates, bretonnian caparisons and daemonforged chaos armor.
A total of 16 different factions, spanning the warring city states of Remas and Miragliano, the petty fiefdoms of the Border Princes, the cold steppe-kingdom of Kislev and the heart of the Old World: The Empire.
Many new troops, such as Tilean Handgunners, Imperial Greatswords and Bretonnian Knights of the Realm
New bandits. From the forests come the beastmen, from the north come the marauding kurgan and norscans, and in Sylvania, the dead are seldom resting.
