About this mod

A small collection of Zweihanders came out recently that were of high quality, and someone asked if there were plans to make a RBM patch for them. I'm not a big fan of RBM but I like to understand how mods work and I've made them in the past so I decided to patch these five swords to play well with RBM. They aren't extremely fine tuned/perfect.

I don't really like Realistic Battle Mod, at least the combat module. It's bloated with too many features and isn't the answer to the core game's balance issues, but the mod is very popular and a lot of people like using it. Considering that I mod for others and for my own enjoyment (which includes understanding how things work), I made an attempt to make an RBM patch for Zweihander Collection.

Please read the entire mod page in detail before asking any questions and or asking for help, failure to do might result in being ignored.

Feedback is appreciated and welcome, but only if it is something I can work with.

- You must have Realistic Battle Mod installed
- You must have Zweihander Collection installed

You cannot enable my mod without both of these being installed and enabled. My mod looks for the module folders named "RBM" and "Zweihander", and PREVENTS you from enabling the mod if they are not present. If you would like to bypass this, edit the submodule and delete the DependedModule lines for these two.

Don't really want to repeat myself too much but this contains changes to five eleven Zweihanders that will hopefully make them more balanced in an environment that is Realistic Battle Mod.

My mod uses the same item and piece IDs as the original, but adds an [R] prefix to the item names. This means that "Zweihander" will be replaced in-game with "[R] Zweihander", preventing duplicates or copies. They cannot be mixed together. You can bypass this by editing item ids, piece ids and piece names across everything. There are minor renames (Engraving > Engraved / Golden > Gold)

This mod was used on the beta branch (?) (v1.2.11) of Bannerlord. To sum up all questions about game/mod versions. I only support the most updated version(s) of the prerequisite mods. If Realistic Battle Mod and Zweihander work, then this mod will also works.

Once again, RBM isn't my thing, but here is a list of things that may help people:

- I only really had two 2H weapons from RBM to use as a reference and I don't play RBM so I am not sure if my damage factors are consistent.
- It is my understanding that heavier pieces reduce swing speed, thrust speed, thrust damage and handling, especially in the pommel, you always want the pommel to be light unless you are doing some fine tuning.
- I didn't really do much fine tuning, the weights seemed overall okay. I mainly reduced the weight of blades.
- The scale factors of the weapons have not been modified
- You may notice some weapons have one less tier, you may also notice how the value of them are all over. My edits may have caused this but I am ultimately not directly controlling this factor. I can't do much about it.
- I haven't touched the armor bonus of pieces, but maybe they should be?

If you would like to see detailed information on what I did, please refer to my spreadsheet.

Here is everything that I can think of when I hear "compatibility" for an RBM patch:

1) Don't ask for support when you have over a 100 mods
2) RBM patches should be paired with other RBM patches (eg armor). They should not be used or paired with vanilla values, and or other overhauls like Drastic Battle, Warbandlord and similar unless you sit down and test. Things will be too weak or too strong.
3) Modified values to weapons and armor should not conflict with much of anything outside of weapons and armor, but that is my understanding and sometimes my understanding is shallow.

Make sure you have all the requirements and then just download the main file and extract it to your Modules folder. You can also install with Mod Organizer 2. It's what I use.

I have no idea if RBM patches are save-safe. I personally practice starting a new game when installing new mods, especially ones that touch items. This isn't a particular concern of mine.

Enjoy!

ps. credits to yhrrrrrrrr for allowing me to make a RBM patch for Zweihander Collection
