I am Horseapple, author of the Encyclopaedia Calradica (not public yet), as well as a renowned music producer, writer, and YouTuber. I have a massive 190 subscribers. As part of a big project (i.e., a lore accurate 3:30:00 M&B film, and online encyclopedia) I’ve developed this ReShade preset. This shader is for those who don’t just want a cinematic experience – but also – a gameplay friendly one too. This shader has been fine tuned to adapt on the fly to gameplay situations like sieges, night battles, and hideout assaults.
When in comes to the effect on FPS (from 70 down to 50; 30 at worst but is uncommon). Although, the effect on FPS varies from PC to PC due to their parts. Also has to do with battle location, time of day, battle size (i.e., number of Ai NPCs on field), et cetera. For these reasons FPS effect is not easy to qualify.
This ReShade preset was tested in DAY scenes, SUNSET and or SUNRISE scenes, and in NIGHT scenes in Bannerlord, in all cultures and their unique environments and their color temperatures. Below is what you can expect from all three shader profiles (i.e., Cool-ish, Warm-ish, Samurai-ish).
To begin with PD80_06_Luma_Fade.fx provides a threshold via luminosity (light levels) after specific points the fx in between the two faders activates. During night battles for instance, the faders are set to activate allowing LiftGammaGain.fx to brighten the image. This effectively creates an adaptive lighting system for the three shaders. Next is PD80_02_Bloom.fx which does what it says on the box. Adds bloom to the image which creates the beautiful bleed effect coming from the sky and other powerful light sources. Moving on, we have pCamera.fx which is an all-in-one fx mimicking a camera's idiosyncrasies like noise, vignette, chromatic aberrations, but for our purposes, we only activated pCamera's lens flares which brings a little more life to each battle. Vibrance merely adds more color to the image, as expected. FILMDECK.fx is by far the most in-depth effect on this list. This fx mimics older film cameras. From their color and noise profiles, to their iso and sharpness. Utilizing this fx, I was able to develop the three aforementioned shaders: Warm-ish, which is a... well... warmer color temperature. Cool-ish which has a cooler temperature. And finally, Samurai-ish, where FILMDECK's extra miscelaneous effects are put into use creating a Kurasawa-esque picture. Projector flickering and film-weave included. Lastly on our list is PD80's [...] Correct_Color.fx which will automatically detect color and light levels of the image and try to shift white color's towards pure white. Certain scenes like Lord's Halls and Taverns have very warm environments, this fx combats these overly hot color temperatures.
