Why?

While playing Kingdom Come Deliverance II, I noticed how much I enjoy hearing people chat about their daily lives and mundane things as I walk around towns and villages. It really made the scenes more "alive" for me. I thought this would be a great addition to Bannerlord as well, so I started by creating a simple proof of concept. After seeing that it looked really good, I decided to expand it further with multiple flavors. And here we are.

What does this mod do?
This mod primarily adds chatter and dialogues between NPCs to the game. Whether you’re in a town, a tavern, a village, or even on the battlefield, you’ll hear NPCs comment on the situations they’re in. Every one-liner and dialogue is uniquely crafted to reflect an NPC’s profession, age, status (townsman/villager), the player’s appearance, and even the season. Currently, the mod adds 2,043 extra lines (Yes, 2,043!) that cover almost every scenario. If it’s cold, they’ll mention it; if it’s too hot, they’ll say something about that. If a settlement isn’t in good shape financially, you can bet they’ll notice. And if you’re carrying expensive armor or a sword, it will catch their eye.

In battle, the system takes into account the weather, the formation of the speaker (for example, whether they’re an archer or cavalry), and the power balance of the armies.
For example, if you’re overpowered, your soldiers will comment on that, while if you’re underpowered and doomed, they’ll say something entirely different. Your soldiers will also react based on who they’re fighting; for instance, if they’re battling peasants or villagers, they might show some remorse, but if they’re fighting bandits, they’ll make sure to point it out.

The mod also has the ability to increase crowd density in town scenes, meaning you can now have very crowded towns instead of the empty streets typically found in Bannerlord. (image is 4-5x more dense than standard game)

Additionally, the mod adds periodic cavalry units passing through towns to deliver messages to their leaders. While it doesn’t do much aside from adding some action to town scenes, it’s a neat touch.
