My Reports Page
A new ‘My Reports’ page, which displays all of your moderation reports and their current status. You can find the page by navigating to your moderation settings and clicking ‘My Reports’. Here’s the link: https://next.nexusmods.com/my-reports
We’re still working on improving this by tidying up the display of some report data, adding closure reasons for reports and adding optional notifications when your reports are closed.
Mod Comment Search Feature
You probably saw we had some downtime early in July specifically for this, as we explained in our news post, the long-awaited mod comment search feature finally made its glorious return. We’re happy about it and we know you are too.
Nexus Mods App
To update on the new app, well, there isn’t one this month. However, we can explain why.
We decided to skip this month’s release due to some fundamental changes we’re making that require updates to almost every part of the UI. With so much needing to be worked on, we simply wouldn’t have it completed in time. So, we thought it was more important to make sure that when we give you the new release, it is better than the current 0.5.3 version.
You can find a lot more information in our forum post here, this will cover what we’ve been working on, why it’s important and how it will benefit the app in the future.
New Server
We launched a new Singapore CDN Server to improve download speeds for users in the region. At the moment you’re not able to manually select this server as we’re not sure if it’s going to be permanent. We’ll be able to update you all on this in 3 months at the end of the trial period.
Moderation Tools
There’s been a handful of updates to our moderation tools, so let's run through them all:
- Block/Unblock Mod Donation Points: Community Managers (not Moderators) now have the ability to block a mod or user from earning DP. This is another tool in their kit to be used when there is a flagrant breach of our ToS.
- Related Reports: Our Moderators now have the ability to quickly view all of the previous reports made against a user or their content, allowing the moderation team to spot trends and make more informed decisions.
What else?
- Design System: We’ve continued working on the Next site so it uses a more consistent and considered design system. As you all know this is an ongoing project that we’ll continue to work on for the foreseeable future.
- Updated mod cards are now available and an example can be seen here: https://next.nexusmods.com/profile/Pickysaurus/mods. We’ve made some changes to the mod tiles. The entire mod tile is no longer a clickable link. Like the old mod cards, only the image and title will take you to the mod page. Whereas now links to the author name, game, and category have been added for easy navigation. Another update we've made is that images not using the correct aspect ratio are now filled with a gradient, which looks much nicer than a solid colour. The author icon and name are displayed on the tile because a specific design for profile pages hasn’t been created yet, ensuring a uniform look across the site. More improvements are on the way, including the return of the menu to quickly track, endorse, or view the mod image gallery.

- Download Statistics Update: We changed how/when we update statistics, so that updates are no longer instant, but happen periodically now. For example, on mod pages the count of downloads now updates every 15 minutes.
- File Tabs Update: We updated the ‘Files’ tab on mod pages to give the premium banner a refresh. It’ll now call out a little more strongly that users with ad blockers are being throttled more than those without (1.5 MB/s vs 3 MB/s). Whilst this is nothing new, not all of our community were aware of this, so please consider supporting us and Mod Authors by displaying ads.
- External Links: Any navigation links to external sites will now open in a new browser tab by default.
Eww, Bugs
- Fixed an issue introduced by last month’s navigation updates, which broke the blurring on game-specific pages.
- Addressed VirusTotal timeouts, we’re aware more can be done here though.
- Fixed an issue with new game notifications.
- Mod image titles can be edited again.
- Gave mod download stats a kick after they stopped updating.
- Fixed mod counts for new games.
What’s to Come?
- New Pages: We’ll be working on moving the ‘Mods’ and ‘Game’ pages over to the new Next site, which will involve moving them into our new design system.
- Mod Download Statistics: Another new page is in progress, which will deliver a monthly breakdown of your mod’s download statistics. Although this is to replace functionality we plan to remove from Donation Reports, we may enrich the new report in future with other statistics (e.g. Endorsements).
- Attach Files to Reports: To finish off the work on our new moderation system, we’ll be giving users the ability to attach files (e.g. simple images and text files) to reports. Moderators will be able to use this extra contextual data to make better moderation decisions.
- Image Compression Changes: Some of you noticed we made some image compression changes, by trying a smaller WebP, and were unhappy about this. We saw this, we heard you, and we rolled back this change. We’re currently testing AVIF instead.
- Design System Improvements:
- Collection Card Tiles - We’re making some changes to the collection card tiles as seen on user profiles.
- Collection Lists - New grid layout, filter design and more.
As always, keep your feedback coming; we’ll bring more updates next month!

Of course I can go to "explore all mods" and sort by time, but what I'm asking is having an option to set as default a "Recent" tab that lets me see the latest mods of a game not limited by a time frame.
Normally I just browse the front page of a game to take a quick peek at the most recent mods, and If it's a game with a not so active community I haven't visited in some time, I don't get to see all the recent mods in the front page, but very little, maybe even sometimes just one or none, if they haven't been published in that week.
but will 'trending' be added / restored in the dropdown options in the right
side filter (endorsements, downloads, last comment, etc)? at:

it still exists in the results of old markup 'search on users'.....
Is anything like that planned? I think that could be very easy to implement and would help alot of your users. Since even today i assume there is alot of language barrier here and there, and most users are probably not so experienced with other language cause of age.
We don't have anything planned for this, because there's a lot of excellent online translation sites and browser extensions! I often use something like Google Translate and whilst it's not perfect, it's close enough.
We don't have any plans to work on this, but I can see it has been suggested by other users. Please consider giving it an upvote: https://feedback.nexusmods.com/posts/1971/blur-adult-images-unusable-for-viewing-gallery-and-missing-adult-signification-in-mod-requirements
Please consider making a suggestion on our feedback board: https://feedback.nexusmods.com/
Yes, we'd love to do this and have plans to work on it in the future. I can't give you a firm timeline or estimation of when we'll get to this though. You can always upvote this suggestion, the more votes the higher it gets on our list: https://feedback.nexusmods.com/posts/1640/comment-posting-history
Best way if you want to be informed of replies is to make sure you're leaving a new comment and not replying to someone else. (There are no notifications at all for comments on site news posts at the moment though!)
what about "mention" features?
so if someone click reply to my specific comments, they also mentioning me, so i only got notification when someone mentioning me
well, this feature can be active by default and be deactivated in user settings
--- --- --- ---
people often forgot in which mods they put their comments and didnt realise when someone is replying to their comments
Mentions is something we're also considering. I'm definitely in favour of this.
Glad to hear the April traffic has motivated you to mod again!
