Looking forward to this, Roy. Is this likely to be added into EssArrBee's FNV Fear and Loathing guide? It's already using New Vegas Uncut 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, & 7, as well as sandbox6's mods.
Mono is currently curating FnL. I think it has a good chance to be added, though it will need to be tested for performance (which I think should be fine) and proper patches will be made, so it won't be added immediately upon release (no mods are really as they all are vetted for the guides).
I have a beast of a rig, so I don't notice any performance loss at all.
I'm sure it will impact lesser machines. There is of course 2-3 ini tweaks to help with issues of memory in general and the AI threading. Coupled with NVSE's initial heap replacement it seems to mitigate any problems with crashing.
I'm running an i4790k @ 4.4ghz with a 980Ti so yeah I think that should be enough. This game is entirely CPU bound just like Oblivion.
If you haven't done the multithreaded AI tweak, I highly recommend that one, it really works. I set the threads to 4, but I don't think above 2 really does anything.
I know about those tweaks and I used to use them. But Queue, author of NVAC, said that those tweaks do more harm than good or the engine doesn't read them at all.
I am familiar with Queued's post about them. In this one case it's simply not true, in all other cases they are placebo or bad except for one other which has to do with facegen. This tweak and the one for facegen background loading are some of the few ones I use outside of LOD ones which I also find necessary. I do completely agree that most tweaks are nonsense and shouldn't be used and can be harmful. My reasoning for this one is that the engine was made and designed for the XBOX 360 and PS3 which are multicore, and it is a rather poor port to PC. I'd rather not have my NPC's frozen or my frame rates drop below 60.
For me the game will not run at all unless I do that, same for Fallout 3. In over a thousand hours of play and thousands more modding I have seen no adverse effects from that tweak.

Would i5 4690 3.5 - 3.9 GHz and GTX 970 cut it?
I get more or less stable 60 fps unless there's 10+ NPC on the screen at once fighting.

bUseThreadedAI=1
then add under it
iNumHWThreads=2

My fps right now is pretty stable without those tweaks with a pretty modded game, but I always look for more fps.
Thanks for the info! Much appreciated.
Nevermind the broken LOD on the radio towers and power line towers, I've just been to lazy to regenerate it the last few days.
4 out of 7 area's complete. West Side, Vault 3 and McCarran left to go.
