About this image

If anyone knows a fix for this please let me know. The game will freeze for 10 to 15 seconds and then I get this missingno graphics bug, if I ignore it the game will freeze again not long after and more things on the screen will look like that, both mod added and vanilla textures are affected. Have tried redoing archive invalidation to no avail. Has been doing it more often and is borderline unplayable, fallout 4 is looking like my solution...

How much VRAM do you have, and how many mods do you have activated?

4 dedicated, plus up to 16 convertible depending on how much ram nv is using, I have a minimal understanding on how that works but it's amd hardware. Mods are likely the problem, I know there is a limit, I'm below the limit that causes mods to not show up in game ( from what I've found anything beyond 7f in fomm) right now im at 7c. But now that I think of it, if I ignore the bug long enough I will get a ctd and it says the display driver has stopped responding and recovered

Well, the limit can vary depending on your hardware. Yours sounds like it should be more than enough but you never know.

Easiest way to find out; deactivate ALL your .esps - everything but the DLC - start the game, start a new game, play for a while. If everything's fine, that was the issue. If it still happens, it's an issue with your video card, which TBH is what it sounds like if your display driver is crashing. Usually if you go over the mod limit it just causes the wrong textures to load on everything, not show weird corrupted-looking textures like in your screenshot.

Thanks, will try that, I play for the mods nowadays, different mods for different style playthroughs, I'll try adding several at a time if I can't reproduce the bug with no mods and I'll either find the limit or the mod that's causing it, I'd be surprised to see if it were just one mod but out of the three machines I've ever played nv on this is the only one to do it....maybe it's because my data folder is 86gb..

Oh also, I missed that you said you had an AMD card, that might be part of the issue. They run hot and their driver software isn't great, the current driver version you're using might not be optimized for older games like NV.

Optimization is probably it, I can run f4 no problem as well as mgsv, kind of wondered how it ever had issues with nv when I used to play it on an old Toshiba laptop just fine

It's like if the meshes are from another version of the game !

I got this broken meshes when I ported custom meshes from Oldrim to SSE without converting them...

Porting is slightly outside of my abilities, we'll say....three steps above learning nifscope? Lol I can do Photoshop and I can do solid works, but video game graphics baffle me for some reason. If I could make it do this on command it would make for an awesome vr-pod combat simulator or something but would probably cause epilepsy

Hmm, will do. I'm assuming I'll have to run in window mode, I'll Google for the software for monitoring. I have 4gb of vram on an amd Radeon and I'm not running a hirez texture pack or enb, so I would be surprised if I'm running out of vram, I don't have to worry about how long I'm playing for because of how often Vegas crashes. I'll try turning some of the visual settings down once I learn what the fancy schmancy words actually correspond to
