I think i have enough LOD ready to warrant a preliminary release soon.
I'm planning on collecting the files the 29th of februari.
That gives me some time to do a few more LOD.

Got 90 main meshes ready, still need to fix maybe 10, but these are good enough to keep for now, i can update those later.
I did a quick patch on them so there are no holes or nonmanifold geo, UV's of dead trees are still the old ones, don't expect the razorsharp quality of the other trees.
And i have 50 LOD meshes ready, they are the most used trees, so tree pop in will be minimal.

there a good lot of trees in the distance now, and they all look better then the old LOD, how much better, you have to decide for yourself when you see it.

I'm not going to reply in any way to any complaints about some being better then others on the WFO thread.
I worked on this for more then 500 hours, so any complaint that i do not like, i will remove, it's free, either enjoy it, or move on.

The only treelod is use is for Cholla Cacti, they where too complicated to make into a 3d mesh, they would have taxed the LOD chunks to the max,
so i will keep them simple treelod (it's a crossplaned object lod mesh, pretty much the same as treelod).
The rest are all full 3d LOD meshes just way smaller then the main mesh ofcourse.

Also, to make sure the LOD chunks arent oversized, i have fixed some vanilla lod to be 10x smaller then it was, the fences i showed in one of my pictures.
I will include these in the download, so there will also be 3 fences in the mod to make sure no chunk will get oversized and all lod will be visible.

I myself have all lod installed i could find on the Nexus, and the trees, and all my lod chunks are visible, so i assume it will be the same for everyone else.

    This is so cool. Can't wait. Will u also include pregenerated lods? Many tutorials say we shouldn't regen tree lods.

      Those tutorials are just wrong then. There is no reason not to generate tree lod for WFO. The reason you are advised not to is because 90% of LOD mods are exclusively object LOD so its usually a literal waste of time. That isn't the case with WFO, you can and should or you wont get new bushes or non object lod, such as the cholla cacti mentioned above.

      No pregenerated LOD, like Skibadaa says, just generate the LOD.

      well i called the cholla treelod, but it's actually object LOD, i just made a crossplaned doublesided mesh for it much like treelod actually is.

      EDIT: i just checked, i was wrong, i have a few cacti and 1 tree and 2 bushes still as treelod.
      1 tree i'm making 3D lod for right now, the rest i'll also make true object LOD for in the coming days.

    The difference is huge. This is going to look super sweet with other graphical mods and texture packs installed. Can't wait to try this bad boy out!
