The more I think about it, the fuel tanks make very little sense for a car powered by microfusion cells, I think I prefer the version we see in the final version of Fallout 2 that you've updated to in your recent post.
Any plans to tie it to the wrecked highwayman in the world space? https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Wrecked_Highwayman
Damn this looks good! If the Highwayman was originally supposed to have those fuel tanks, it only further cements the Mad Max inspiration found in the series, huh? Hope Xilandro releases his framework soon so we can get our hands on this.
Also, if you don't mind me asking: Are there any guides you know of that could help me figure out how to do to this? There's a car mesh that was made for XRE that I'd like to translate to The Frontier's in the same way you did. I've just recently started dipping my toes in Nifskope and Blender editing and I have no idea how skeleton editing works.
Excellent work here! And well done getting it hooked into Frontier's driving already. Make sure you have the latest hotfixes so you can get a Light and Dismount node properly placed as well.
Am I correct in assuming you've created the model/textures by yourself then?
Thank you! Yes the model is all mine, textures are 99% mine (tire treads are from the vanilla tire texture). I'll make sure to get the hotfixes, I'm still using the day one upload. I haven't actually played the frontier yet (I've been to busy on this).
Any chance you know anywhere I can get some more documentation on how this stuff works? Right now my highwayman is a simple mesh replacer and skeleton edit to the OldCar, I havent gotten around to making it standalone in game.
I already have it working with the frontier's driving system for my personal playthrough. I have a while to go with working on this yet but if xilandro releases the standalone car framework and grants permission to use it I will be releasing it publicly. But given how busy the frontier team most likely are I would remain patient as it likely wont be for a while.
