Burt is the well-intentioned but self-important Mayor of Mud Town, a title he holds in high regard (though few others do). Convinced that, any day now, the town will become a booming tourist destination to rival New Vegas or New Reno, he has spared no expense to decorate his office, and is pushing for annexation by the NCR with dreams of becoming a powerful senator. The other settlers remind him frequently that raider and mutant infested canyons are typically unattractive to tourists, but these remarks fall on deaf ears.
