i wanted to go for a sort of crust punk battle jacket-esque vibe but i got two pins in before realizing that patches would be a bitch to make and a major bitch to weight. so, two pins. pins are easy. they're small and all one solid thing so you don't even need to be good at weighting because they don't bend and you can just copy the weights from the nearest vertex of whatever they're meant to be attached to. they're easy. patches aren't! and there isn't really a patch in the game, besides. for the pins i just grabbed the buttons off the boomer jumpsuit and subdivided the edges a whole bunch. there isn't really anything that's that close to a patch. so we're not doing patches. we're doing pins. two, specifically, because if i had more i'd need a patch to visually balance all the pins. and we're not doing patches! and we're not just faking it with the vest texture because then they'd be too low res. ugh.
anyway. there's a few little details you can't really see in this showcase. i fixed the UV maps on cass's jacket buttons so the texture shows up right. i made the pins really ridiculously high poly and high res for how small they are. i fixed (some of) the fake shadows on the back of ulysses's outfit. i also made a male version that i'm not totally happy with. please clap.

EDIT: unrelated, but i haven't been playing FNV bc my generated LOD is messed up beyond belief, so i have to reinstall and re-mod the game all over and too lazy to do it... but i just saw your NVR2R edits. absolutely adore what you've done, by the way, they actually look like real people now--especially cass and veronica. they look like actual women who would live in a post-apocalyptic wasteland and not yassified waifus. every mod that overhauls NPC faces, even modern ones just. make the women look like dolls and it's frustrating. seeing your NVR2R edits after being gone for a while from FNV modding is like breathing in fresh air after getting blackened lungs from second hand smoke. you made cass actually look like a real late 30s woman who's also an alcoholic. thank you so much for doing that, and for un-waifu-ing veronica too, she looks amazing too, i love the details you've done with giving her some sunburn.
AND, boone. FINALLY, he actually looks a 26 year old boot, it's milder compared to what happens to women in NPC overhauls but it's like many forget that boone is NCR and the NCR probably has similar grooming/hair regulations like IRL military/army/marines/whatever.
oh, that's such great news! i'm absolutely going to use NVR2R with ur edits when i revamp my FNV mod list. i'm glad those super strange misogynistic comments about the mod didn't deter u, it's so weird people don't just ignore a mod they don't like when no one is forcing them to use it. u don't see me or anyone else complaining about the 464654165th gigantic titty waifu mod on SSE nexus in their own mod pages' comments, or whatever. and the tlou2 dina influence makes SO MUCH sense, i was wondering who ur veronica was reminding me of! absolutely adore ellie and dina in tlou2, now those are Girl Bosses. i'm inevitably going to love ur version of veronica even more!!
OMG, yes! i like the khans' aesthetic but they could've been so much better, like the khans could've SERVED (papa khan ESPECIALLY), they could've been dressed like rob halford (and other members of judas priest) in the 80s, but judging from the upset comments your NVR2R edits got in the year of 2022 i doubt Gamers™ could handle it, never mind in 2010. (honestly the biggest gripe i have out of the four(?) khan armors in game is that they're not equal/the same, like the women have those... tiny leather vests and short shorts but the guys are in regular jeans and their vest is somehow drastically different from the feminine version of their respective armors...)
