NCR Overhaul WIP 1

Howdy folks,

Been awhile since I've posted anything so figured i'd share with you all something I've been working on. For the past few months I've been trying to come up with a cool concept for an NCR overhaul. I tried basing their uniforms off something more akin to US G.I. Vietnam war gear to WW1 style dough boy uniforms but nothing really worked or looked good. So after looking at a few NCR cosplays I figured if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Just give it an upgrade. 

The aim of the mod is to change the style and gear of the NCR trooper uniforms to be a little more pleasant to look at and a bit more practical. Along with a altered pith helmet I've also changed the bandolier to a more WW1/WW2 style ammo belt. Asides from these changes i'm also hoping to add some pistol holsters and some other bits and bobs. 

The uniform is far from finished but i'm very happy with how it's turned out so far. Just wanted to share this with you all to try and gauge people's opinions and see if anyone had any ideas for things I could add.

    Really nice. Has the NCR "feel" to it, which is a thing I feel is often forgotten with armor replacements.

    I like it, im glad you didn't go WW2 route or vietnam route. Its already been done and it just doesn't fit the world as well i feel. I will say this though, they actually aren't wearing a traditional pith style helmet. The reason it looks weird is because its based off an italian version of the pith style helmets. i think if you ever think about re-doing the bandolier the disposable style ones that don't have a flap and no button are the best.

    I always thought the NCR uniforms should've looked more Vietnam-esque, based on the setting of the game and the parallels to the battle at Hoover Dam and the actual Vietnam War. The pith helmets and the MC Hammer parachute pants always seemed a little out of place to me. All that being said though, I think you did a tremendous job with this so far. The helmet looks far superior to the vanilla one. I really like the (what look to be) Paper/Cardboard matches in the band. As far as 'what you could add', maybe a less formal outfit? Like the Pants, Tank top/T-Shirt and Dog Tags? They always looked like they'd be sweating their asses off. Regardless man this looks great!

      I'm a big proponent of "add, don't replace" when it comes to mods for Bethesda games, as long as we're not talking about outright bug fixes or "literally vanilla but higher quality" mods. +1 for me on extra casual outfits, and just tossing my hat in the ring to say what's in the screenshot would be cool as an additional outfit, not a replacer. Looks nice tho.

      Thanks guys, glad you like the outfit. I like the idea of a more casual outfit. Might take the merc grunt outfit since i've replace the MC hammer pants with them and add ''NCR'' onto the front and some dogtags. As well as maybe some light gear.
