About this image

Another smaller update this time, once again it has been ages since my last one as life has thrown (and is continuing to throw) a lot of stuff my way that's left me too drained to do as much work on this as i'd like (mentioned in my last update) but I have been working on both the meshes/textures and now the esp

At 100 or so ready to go, these are shown in nifskope but will look better (hopefully) in game. Note: the metal pan, tin plate and molerat steaks will use whatever textures the user has for them already

-Butter
-Jerky (Brahmin)
-Shi Rice
-Spore Pod Rolls
-Molerat Steaks on Bean & Yucca Mash

My textures aren't great i'm well aware and they're in 1k (for this game, I normally do 2k but that'll be a bit much with so many) but it's still something I am trying to make them as best I can, if the mod isn't for you or the textures/meshes just don't seem quality enough you don't have to try the mod but I hope it's clear how much love and time I am putting into this mod :)

A variety of meals and beverages are planned from longer shelf life travel foods, Chinese, Jewish, Mexican and Native American and ancient Roman recipes used by Caesar's Legion as I feel those cultures could still exist in postwar America even cook books with their recipes  (like the Shi, tribals, travelling caravans and NCR could pass on many of their recipes) I want to do right by these cultures that these foods belong to but at the same time in a post apocalypse setting some of the recipes could have been changed to work with available ingredients or mistakes made by those who now use them but if any of the things I make are extremely incorrect to the point they're offensive to the cultures they're adapted from let me know kindly and i'll do what I can to make it right, If there are foods you think should be in this mod let me know and I might be able to add them (if I feel they fit and can do them with my current level of skill that is) :)

Rice is, logically speaking, not a Fallout staple. Mostly because it need much water to grow them, and water is scarce resource even in Mojave near the Lake. There might be rice grown in special labs, or hydroponic farms, that would be high priced items instead of normal staple like maize or mutfruits.

I am certain NCR people know how to grow rice, what with Chinese people, Shi communities, in San Francisco. But water demand would make it a rarity.

Yeah I wasn't sure weather or not to add it for that reason(and I've still made an alternate versions of the recipes it's used in that work without it in case I change my mind on adding it) but it's a staple food in many communities and cultures and I'm certain the Shi would've found a way and reason to grow it

If nothing else I could add it as a rarer luxury import

How to grow rice in Fallout:
      1. Use a closed tent to prevent water vaporation and fallout dust. Maize can survive dry condition of California, but not rice. Failing tent, a closed lab will do. Case: the hydroponic lab in Rivet City, Tale of Two Wasteland. Hell, the tents in NCR Sharecropper farm are ideal to do that.
      2. Make small patch of watered field. Or rows and rows of pots or big bowl. You are going to water it much more than maize or mutfruit.
      3. Since in tent, you need to provide sun simulation, meaning electric lights.
      4. With prewar seeds, they probabbly can do 3 crops a year, every year. But that mean the fields need more fertilizers.

The tent, powered lights, and much water, mean rice will always be a limited crop in california. Thus: skyhigh price.

From the way things described in FNV, I think you can make one or two rice tent in the NCR Sharecropper farms without any lore breaking. There is one or two abandoned tents in that place~

I'd just planned to have a couple of NCR aligned stores/the gourmand selling imported rice already rather than have to make a plant model for it but that's a good idea could set one up at camp golf where all that water access is

Wanted cabbage rolls but without having to add cabbages (even though they exist in earlier fallouts) and then I remembered the spore pods >:D
