About this image

Some screenshots from within the GECK where I tested added an alpha-changing animation to a Super Mutant's skin texture. The skeleton model almost fits inside their model perfectly, so what I was trying to do was make a skeletonizing effect where upon death, the super mutant's skin would be triggered to turn invisible, revealing the skeleton beneath. I was also able to make this appear in-game, making Neil's skin fade in and out of sight.

Unfortunately I couldn't figure out how to trigger this invisibility via scripting, even after asking the folks on the Discord channel, and by this point I had lost most of my drive to finish this pet project of mine, so I basically gave up on it.

If anyone out there has any idea how to make this, or wants to make it themselves, feel free.

Perhaps digging through some of EVEs code you might find an answer. I believe it had a critical plasma kill effect that turned an enemy into a skeleton upon disintegrating them.

I'm pretty sure that one just spawns a static skeleton while the body disappears, sort of like the vanilla ash pile effect. It looks neat (EVE was one of the initial inspirations for my Skeletonizer mod) but it's just not what I'm going for.
