"Wake up!" she said very loudly.
"Wha? Who are you? What do you want?" he said startled.
"Doc told me to follow you and help you."
"Wait,how'd anyone know I was back?"
"Well,the trail of butts and whiskey bottles was a bit of a hint." she replied."And Sunny seen you."
"I don't need anyone to follow me." he replied. "Or help me for that matter."
"You know,I did help doc put you back together. He'd hate to see you get taken apart again."
"Your point being? I work best alone. I don't need anyone." he said.
"Have you ever bathed? You stink. You can't even take care of yourself. You're sitting in this old shack and you want me to believe that? Especially when you reek of alcohol,smoke and that dumpster out behind Chets?"
"Fine. I give you that. But why should I let you come with me?"
"Doctors orders. Not mine. He knew you'd not want anyone but he said to do it anyways. You are staying here,so Doc has the authority you know."
"Well. Shit."
"Your mouth is as bad as your smell is."
"Har har. Ahh what a wonderful way to start the day with a headache from hell."
"Drink more water and less booze. That usually helps. And I heard about what happened back in Raider territory. A trader said he seen you in the Followers."

Shit,he thought. Is anything I do going to be told to everyone? Damn,what's a man gotta do to keep some privacy?

"And what did this little birdy tell you?" he asked coldly.
"That one of the doctors said you had died and they managed to bring you back." she replied.

He flicked her the small vial that he had in a pocket.The items inside glittered in the faded light and jingled against the glass.

"7.62 rifle rounds. Some 00 buck shot. and some bird as well. You've been busy. Trying to start a collection?" she said as she was examining the tube. "I would have thought the two in your head would have made you learn the first time."
"Nope. Never learn the first time." he shot back. "And fine. I guess you can follow me. But can I drop you off somewhere and stuff?"
"Nah,Doc said I need to keep an eye on you. Even if that meant being on your ass."
"Fine. Let me get my stuff and lets go."
"Try to keep your brains in your head this time alright?"
"No promises. Who are you anyways?"
"Delilah.You?"
"I don't know."


It's not quite as good as I was hoping,but I needed to give him something to have as a friend you know? I'll figure it out.
