Yes I know, but even in the Fallout world the front grip and butt-stock would be made out of metal. The first M60 was developed in 1957 after all and I do not recall it having wooden parts.
Ah but thats the prototype from 1949 if the date is correct. As you might be aware, the M60 came about by combining the feeding system if the MG42 with the rest of the FG42, creating the T44 prototype. When it was fielded in 1957, much of the heritage of these 2 German weapons had vanished completely.
Ah the image from Fallout 2 I am not sure if this is supposed to be wood actually, it always looked more like the metal ways painted over or something. Would be interesting to know if the design team actually went with wood here or not. But you are right, it seems like they used the prototype T-52 as a base for the Fallout 2 M60, kind of odd.
I think Tactics went with the actual look of the M60 if I am not mistaken.

Very nice, Amsoho! My ex-husband was a Marine and a Vietnam vet, and an M-60 was his weapon of choice, along with two Colt .45's. He had an interesting name for her, too.
I want it, and i want it now. I wand to hold it, reload it and slay any who stand in my path and yell DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA all the way home!
