About this image

Messed around with my Mk. 46 mod today, turned the scope glass size into something much more close to the real thing, upgraded the belt texture, and collapsed the collapsible stock.  Thoughts?

I am aware the lower receiver is warped still.  No idea how to fix it.

Just an FYI that M134 optic is no longer used. they now use an optic produced by Trigicon its designation is TA11MGO. here is a link.

the model looks great I am sorry to left he scope thing out but I am currently in the marines and I just notice stuff like that. the funny thing is the corps is now issuing M27IAR rifles in place of the 249. keep up the good work.

Whoa that's cool I didn't know any of those things. The M27IAR looks pretty cool, but do you know how the suppressive capabilities are compared to something like the M249 or the M240B? From my limited perspective it doesn't look that much different than an HK416 or the rest of the Colt weapons line.

OK so here is the low down about this system. The M27IAR looks like the 416 because it was based off of the 416 and it is produced by H&K. the biggest difference between the M27 and an M16A4 is the operating system. the M16 uses a gas impingement system where as the M27 uses an short stroke piston. this in turn keeps the rifle somewhat cleaner and functioning longer. and as for suppressive capability's I would say they are about the same. however with the smaller mags there are going to be more reloads but they are now mags instead of drums which = faster reload more rounds down range. also the nice little part is every in the squad can now share ammunition and mags. also there is less familiarization with the system because now in almost all respects it is just a supped up M16 with a full auto choice instead of 3 round burst. so there is less extra training that has to be done to get marines comfortable with the system.

Looks nice. Just out of curiosity though ... can it be possible to have a version with no fore grip and animated ammo belt so one can see the last few rounds go into the chamber. I'm not even sure if that's possible. Nevertheless you did a great job.

Animated ammo belts are a no-go! I imagine the non-foregrip hand grip clips like hell too. Don't worry jtucker40, I feel your pain.

You could probably do an animated belt as part of the firing animation - a la barrel spin on the minigun - with some complexity and a hell of a lot of work, but I'm 99% sure the game engine can't handle the belt running out of ammo, since it's not built for belt feeding and ammo counters (cf: the ammo box and backpacks on all the heavy weapons)

There are more problems than that to consider but let's just agree that at the moment it's not possible with the knowledge and skillsets available in the community right now in a variety of areas.

As much as I wish I could make the ammo belt animated, I'm pretty sure it's impossible with the Gamebryo engine. Note how Bethesda opted for the vanilla LMG to have no belt so it could use the assault rifle loading animation.

      EDIT: Spelling.
