About this image
Another ho hum shot of Bernd, still in Freeside because damned if we can't get beyond the 'brief test, exit FO:NV, hit up Blender/Nifskope/GECKPU' phase.
On a note of mixed positivity, you may notice that Bernd's right arm is, shall we say, not the same as it was previously. I won't get into details, but suffice it to say that I thought things would work out better with original assets. As a result, his new arm is a much more Frankenstein-ian creation of bones, bits of clinging skin, and mechanical apparati.
On the technical side, the weighting could use some work (it's a little bendier than I would like it to be) and the shoulder area could use some beefing up. Overall, though, it fell together much better than I would have expected and even if I can't clean the weights completely I'll still be satisfied.
Now, it's back over to GECKPU to tinker with some of the features that I deemed necessary before moving forward with an alpha release.
No real time frame yet, if you care, but progress is still progressing at a decent clip and I'm anxious for some outside input, so look for something soon.
I'm sure I'll post a pic ;)

Follow-up question: Are you considering giving him his own quest line?
Looks great so far
That's the ultimate goal here. He's currently got the basics in place, companion wheel, that sort of thing, but I really want to take him to the next level, to put him up with some of the finer companions here on the Nexus, hopefully. Whether or not I'll be able to accomplish that is still up for debate, but I intend to try.
That said, some things that I have not yet worked on include a companion quest (I've got some firm ideas, but no solid plan yet), voice acting (again ideas but no implementation), integration with DLCs, and so on.
Also, a few of your excellent textures in these screens, I might add
The idea of a ghoul with a prosthetic limb is actually... new as far as I know. I've only ever seen smooth skins with them before.
Usually when I turn up here in Images, it means I just hit the wall on whatever it is that I'm working on.
This is my stress relief, I guess. Not sure what that says.
Edit: I meant to add that I haven't seen many "enhanced" ghouls either, and it just seems natural to me, that with their body degrading they might seek out replacement parts when and where applicable. I have stories in mind to explain how and when Bernd came upon his bits & pieces that I intend to integrate into the mod as dialogue.
