About this image
I don't want to sell mods.
I don't want to be a part of a team that sells mods.
I don't want anything I ever make to be sold in someone else's mod.
I don't want donations.
I don't even want a cup of coffee.
What I do want is for everyone to continue to share their works and help each other out the way that we have done since Morrowind (even though I wasn't here then).
Money and greed can corrupt Bethesda and Valve but it doesn't have to destroy our community unless we let it.

Oh, has your Willow been eating too much of your chicken quesadilla
What I don't like is Valve/Bethesda paying modders 25 cents on the dollar. I don't like that paying modders incentivizes them to steal work from other modders. I'm afraid the community will never be the same. There are a lot of modders that are already changing how they mod in response to the threat of stolen/misused content that they've created.
I agree. It's a terrible loss. I can't blame them, though, and support their decision. There is a fair amount of mod theft now. With money available there will be more incentive than ever to steal content.
If I mod at all for FO4 it won't be what I do now. I'll move to easy stuff that doesn't require much support and doesn't conflict much with anything else and takes me several hours to build instead of hundreds of hours and I won't care at all what happens to it so that if it gets stolen I won't feel devastated by that.
Well, today I'm mad, sad, disappointed, think the community will never be the same again, never want to give Bethesda another dollar, etc. Who knows how all of this will pan out. I might feel very differently by the time FO4 gets released.
Looks as if even the Elves are abonding Skyrim now Respect Bethie
