I finally found it, after all this time. It was still up there, beneath the overgrown grass and what's left of the small shelter we built. Frequented only by desperate travelers, explorers and bandits now. It must be fate they left it behind, something out there wanted me to find it. For you.
This is all that's left, after all we went through. This camera. The same one you could never get clean, the same one that always had that thick layer of gunk under the lens. It still works. I don't know how, or why, but it does.
I took one last picture with it, and threw it in the fire. It's what you would've done for me, I'm sure of it. The initials were worn down, but I could still make out the letters...
