Yeah, I like dDo but I don't. It makes it so much easier but its kinda cheating xD usually I make the materials myself and do most of the masks by hand. It would probably look better if I didnt, to be honest, but it feels like cheating, so I tend to avoid it as much as possible
Looks great! tho i am not so sure but i think there is an issue with hard edges bake. Just make sure to split UV islands on hard edges http://i.imgur.com/hqQ9Pfa.png also may be leave more space between UV islands, and make more edge scattering outside UVs area on normal map. Otherwise looks great
Yes, I am going to re-do the normal map (making some edges look strange, and the 'eyes' have some normal map issues) and tweak the other textures to sort of hide the seams a little bit better.
my only issue with it, is that at present, the 'pull down aimer' thingy wouldn't function, as the 'bar' protruding out form the right socket would prevent the aimer from coming down far enough to actually be in front of your eye.
I drew some arrows here, you can see what i mean about the pull-down not reaching the eye, due to the handlebar.
lol, and I thought I was nitpicky. I'll have a look and see if I can tweak it with minimal UV distortion, but no promises. Thank you for the input though
