FAQs
=========================================================================
-I havent download this mod yet, but it'll lag my computer
A: ...You havent even tried it.
-Okay I've tried it. And it does lag my computer. Now what?
A: Get a better cpu or something. Otherwise dunno what to tell you. Im assuming
that if you have New Vegas on this computer that you atleast have a decent computer.
-Dont really like to have to run to Goodsprings Cemetery to toggle the storm. Can you
make an easier way to toggle the sandstorms?
A: When I get the chance, Ill be working on having an inventory item that opens up into
an interface that can easily activate the sandstorms. I am still learning about scripting.
-I cant see that far when the sandstorm is going on!
A: .... thats a sandstorm for ya.
-Will enemies be limited to being able to see me while the storm is going on?
A: Fair question. To be honest, the enemies have to be in plain view by the time they see you.
However, I am going to make a perk that gives you a stealth effect while admist the sandstorm.
It'll be called sand wraith or something. But it'll be somewhat of the same effect as a sandstorm
hindering your enemies view of you. But really, the sandstorm only hinders the far away view and
wont give you a tactical combat disadvantage.
-Why would anyone want a sandstorm mod?
A: Also a fair question. I'm the kind of guy that prefers a rain storm over a clear sunny day. Dont
ask me why. Its just the way I am. This mod was originally going to be just for me. But then I
figured that Id like to see how far it would go on this site. So this is mostly for players who
are like me and likes a storm over a sunny day.
Last few things to note:
====================================================================================================
I uploaded this mod earlier without the switches in Goodsprings Cemetery. It just goes as soon as you
start playing. It was then commented that the storm should be triggered remotely or run on a time schedule.
I wasnt able to learn how to make the storm occur based on time schedules, but I did endeavor myself into
learning how to script for the sole purpose of being able to trigger the storm from a console, despite my
complete and utter incompetence and noobness in scripting. After much frustrated reading and experimenting,
I finally made the script I sought after. However, this would require for me to start from a complete blank
slate, and redo days of work from the first attempted mod, plus enabling the parent activator to all the
sandstorm object. This took twice as long as the first attempt, spending mindless hours doing the same thing
over and over and over.
All this being said, any endorsement or small positive feedback would be absolutely awsome. I learned something
that was completely alien to me, and remade my mod which took days (literately) to complete. If you did appreciate
my mod, then please show it!
