This bugfix addresses two problems with faction-specific armor:
1) NON-HUMANOID COMPANIONS CANNOT CARRY FACTION ARMOR. This makes absolutely no sense, given that the error message shown says that the companion in question cannot wear faction armor, and yet ED-E, Lily, and Rex cannot wear ANY armor.
2) YOU MAY BE ATTACKED BY MEMBERS OF A NEWLY ALLIED FACTION WHILE WEARING ANOTHER FACTION'S ARMOR. This applies to two potential alliances in the game: Brotherhood of Steel and the NCR, and the Great Khans and the NCR. Wearing one faction's armor (e.g. BoS) can result in a small number of members of the other faction (e.g. NCR) attacking you on sight.
NOTES
It is possible you will still be attacked by allied factions if you either load from a save made while faction armor is equipped, or complete one of the alliance-creating objectives while wearing faction armor. To fix this, simply take off the faction armor and put it back on; the fix is applied as the armor is worn.
Another, existing bugfix by OniKeaton (Non Humanoid Companion Faction Armor Fix) addressed the problem of ED-E, Lily, and Rex being unable to carry faction armor. In order to fix the ''alliance'' issue it was necessary to modify the same scripts which the previous bugfix altered, and scripts are one of the few things which cannot be easily merged using FNVEdit. Therefore, I have duplicated the effects of that previous bugfix in this current one.
