About this mod

Makes the Assault Carbine use 556mm ammo and updates loot lists to suit so Enemies have the right ammo type. Also minor tweaks to other 5.56mm weapons like 20 or 30 round magazines.

Permissions and credits
This mod makes the assault carbine use 5.56mm ammo and sets the loot lists and enemies to use the correct ammo type.
It also changes M4/M16 style magazines to 20 or 30 round capacity.


Assault Carbine - Changed to 5.56mm including correct loot lists - DAM upped slightly to account for new ammo.
Uses 20 or 30 round upgraded magazines.

Marksman Rifle - Now uses 30 round mags - DAM rebalanced for different reloading frequency

Service Rifle - Left alone as latest game update changes it anyway

***I'll explain the logic of this mod step by step to clear up confusion.***

The assault carbine in my mind *should* use 5.56mm, it is based on an xm177 or similar early M4 precursor, almost all of this family of AR rifles used the 5.56mm round, none use a '5mm' round.
I felt that the assault carbine would make sense as a 5.56mm weapon.
I also took into account its limited use, power wise I felt it became obsolete early in the game, and the use of the 5mm ammo, specific as it was, further reduced its useability.
I decided I would change it to use 5.56, including AP, .223 etc. as a full on 5.56mm AR
I raised DAM to make it more useful and closer to the performance of the Service rifle, its longer barreled cousin, but due to a shorter barrel it would have less kinetic energy at the muzzle, so it is slightly weaker still.
Overall this weapon is now easier to get ammo for, uses a more common and sensible ammo in my opinion, and has a higher DAM to suit the performance of the 5.56mm round.

*As of the latest update the service rifle is fixed anyway*

The marksman rifle is again an AR variant, clearly using a 30 round STANAG magazine. I upped the capacity to 30 rounds to suit, and as it was overpowered to begin with, reduced the DAM slightly. This maintains game balance as you reload less, but get less DAM to compensate. Its performance is closer to the Service rifle which is a similar length 5.56mm weapon, but still has a slight advantage in DAM rating as a later in game weapon.

If you want realistic AMMO capacities, I have done that.

If you want to maintain the game balance after that without one gun gaining and one losing out, I altered DAM very slightly.

If you look at the Assault Carbine and think it should be chambered in 5.56mm and use 20 or 30 round magazines, I have done that.

Remember, the GECK is free to download, and you can alter DAM, ROF, MAG Capacity and so on to suit your personal preferences and I suggest you do, this is just a well balanced IMO mod to quickly change the AR rifles if you want.
