Cat-apult Weapon and Mutant Cat Safari. V1.0
With Optional Companion Cuddles.

This is a reposted, new version of the weapon only version of this mod (which I took down) and if you have that version, you will need the file in this mod to upgrade it.

Description:
===============

This mod will make available an assault carbine that rapidly shoots mutant baby cats (or kittens) as projectiles. The weapon uses cat eggs (yes, post-apocalyptic mutant cats lay eggs) as ammo. Besides being funny, the weapon does 30 damage per cat, and does 50 critical damage, doing splatter damage in a small radius. Since cats were never made to be projectiles, they explode in a pool of blood at the end of the ride. Cats also reduce the DR of any target hit by 10, and may knock down (or out) any target on a critical hit.

The mod also adds Mutant Cats as a creature to Fallout New Vegas. They are all over the map, and they're nasty!

The mod also includes an optional Mutant Cat Companion named Cuddles. You can find Cuddles in Primm near the underpass (in some cases, she will seek you out and find you the next time you fast travel, but don't count on this). Cuddles will fight for you and follow you any place you go. You can't heal her wounds, but don't worry, she's set to essential and will just get right back up after being killed.

Location:

Goodsprings. If you walk down the hill from Doc Mitchell's house, you will see a cart on your left, across the street from an old pick-up truck (that hit a stop sign). The Litter box is outside the cart and has 1 Cat-apult and 1000 Cat Eggs. If you want more ammo, you have to go on a Mutant Cat Safari and harvest their eggs. Mutant Cats are very much unlike the domestic tabby sitting on your windowsill, laying in the warm sun. No, they're more like the big mountain lion tooth monsters (aka: cougar, puma, panther, painter, mountain cat, or catamount) that populated the Rocky Mountains before the bombs dropped. Lately, these irradiated and vicious horrors have drifted east into the Mojave Desert looking for fresh prey, and they will attack and eat just about anything that moves, even characters with the Animal Friendship perk. However, they like to hang out with Ghouls and Mutants for some strange reason (known only to them) and will seek to protect any nearby Ghouls or Mutants from harm.

Advice:
===============

Advice on using this weapon: Your best bet is to not use the gunsight, and when the crosshairs turn red, your on target, or target the ground near them. It's an automatic weapon, made to spray targets like a hose, so don't spare the cat eggs once your on target. You can also shoot the ground near your target, and watch them take splash damage from the cats as they burst.

Advice on finding Mutant Cats: Mutant cats, unlike the solitary Cougar, form prides of 6 to 12 members. They always live outdoors, up on mountain tops and areas that are hard to reach. While the males protect the cubs, the females (who are larger and more aggressive) hunt food for the pride, in groups of 3-6 members. They like to hunt near human settlements, or any other place that is near other animals. The also like to hang in areas with Ghouls and Mutants, often seeking to protect them. They are in over a dozen locations thoughtout the map.

More Hints: These wild beasts are becoming more well known around the New Vegas wasteland, hated and feared by most. Killing one is said to bring good karma. They are known to be very strong, pouching on their prey and knocking it down, then devouring it while it's still alive, however long that is. Like Mutants, radiation doesn't bother them.

Folks around Goodsprings are up in alarm over the deaths of some Bighorners, which looked to be partially devoured. Some talk of a strange, very fast moving critter lurking just outside of town, passed the town sign.

None, but I do recommend the Enhanced Blood Textures for NV mod for some extra gory cat splats!

Install:
===============

1. Merge the data folder above with your Steam/Steamapps/Common Files/Fallout New Vegas/Data folder. If you wish to use the Optional Companion Cuddles merge the content of that folder with your data folder as above.

2. Start Fallout New Vegas Launcher, click Data File, or start the NVMM. Place a checkmark beside the Cat-apult.esp file. If your using Optional Companion Cuddles, place a checkmark beside the Cuddles.esp file.

Un-Install:
===============

1. Start Fallout New Vegas Launcher, click Data File, or start the NVMM. Uncheck the Cat-apult.esp file, or Cuddles.esp file if you wish to remove the Optional Companion Cuddles.

2. Delete the Cat-apult.esp and Cuddles.esp file and the contents of all folders in this mod. If your just un-installing the Optional Companion Cuddles, delete the Cuddles.esp file only. If your just un-installing the Cat-apult mod, delete the Cat-apult.esp file only.

Known Issues
===============

This does get annoying after a while. If you leave your finger on the fire button too long, cats may explode in your face. I'm working on this, but there isn't much I can do about it.
