UPDATE: Was playing with WMX and found out that (surprise, surprise) making mods without working with other people's mods doesn't work well. I added a new, altered file that gives Paciencia the x4 crit multiplier and also plays nice with WMX. I'm keeping the normal version up for people who don't play with WMX, though. Goes without saying, the new file needs all of the WMX crud to work.
First mod (and on a game that's only 7 years old now! Am I behind the power curve or what?!), but I won't say be gentle since there is very little to this mod. If people want me to move it to a different category like Cheats and God Items or just Weapons, let me know. I got a little bored and just wanted to make a little something-something for myself, but ended up deciding to share it here for absolutely no reason whatsoever. In short, it makes Paciencia a lot stronger (depending on how you look at it). Possibly game-breakingly strong.
But now for story time (skip down a bit for a TL;DR if you're lazy):
I started playing through New Vegas again because even 7 years later it's still a kick-ass game and one of my favorites of all time. As most people do, I started developing some habits when I play through, and most of my characters end up more or less the same: they use bullets and they crit a lot. So naturally that means I start with high luck, get Ratslayer right away, pick up the Lucky Shades, Finesse, Light Touch (after a mod that fixes its bug), yadda yadda. You all know the drill.
For me, the end goal is one of two rifles: either Christine's COS Sniper Rifle or Paciencia. They both have their strengths and weaknesses which I can debate/list on GameFaqs with people some other day. But after getting Paciencia and using both rifles for a bit, I decided I wanted to try dabbling in modding a little. I wanted to make it so that I would be doing crits with Paciencia all the time. The reason for this being that when you're trying to fight deathclaws in the Quarry with a weapon based entirely on critical hits and you only get one sneak attack shot because your gun doesn't accept silencers, you really want the rest of your shots to be criticals, since that ends up being the difference between 220 damage and 55 damage per bullet.
TL;DR - This exceedingly simple mod doubles Paciencia's crit multiplier from x2 to x4. This makes it so that with a decent investment into a luck build (or a few crit chance increasing perks/pieces of gear) you can make every shot a critical, essentially letting you do AMR-level crit damage for the price of .308 rounds and a cheaper rifle. It is unbalanced, but I feel it's still somewhat reasonable. It goes without saying, you need Gun Runner's Aresenal for this, since Paciencia is a GRA gun.
