What is this and what does it do?

A very short script that checks the currently used ammunition type and amount of of ammo needed per shot for the equipped weapon. When the weapon is fired it adds the amount of ammunition drained per shot back to the inventory. This allows for practically infinite ammo while still having to reload (though you need to actually have ammo for the weapon). The cheat is activated and deaktivated ingame with Numpad 1.

Requirements

NVSE and JIP LN NVSE Plugin

Installation

Install with Vortex or copy the InfAmmoNUM1.esp from the archive into your Data folder and activate in launcher, if you want to install manually.

Uninstallation

Deinstall/Remove with Vortex or delete the InfAmmoNUM1.esp from your Data folder if you installed manually.

Known Issues

1. The script seems to sometimes lag behind with very fast firing weapons. I have only noticed this with the gatling laser, a few rounds are sometimes missing after I emptied the magazine of that weapon.

Compatibility Issues

Any mod that also uses Numpad 1 as hotkey would be problematic. That is the only thing that should make problems though, as nothing about the game was changed. Only the script was added. Well, two scripts, one generic quest and two messages. Unless another mod author had the exact same naming conventions as me for one of those things, nothing should happen. I tested it with a few weapons from the mod author Millenia and it worked fine, fingers crossed that it will work with any other modded weapon as well.

Why?

I enjoy not having to worry about ammunition and just going about doing my thing in games from time time. But I also like having to relaod my weapons for some reason. The other options I came across, that offered infinite ammo (God Mode, setting ammo consumption to 0, ...) sadly removed reloading from the equation, so eventually I created this to get what I wanted. Since this little modification is rather universal, I thought I put it online, in case someone else might enjoy this as well.
