Hello Couriers! Big Iron attempts to ramp up the damage of guns to a level that seems more "realistic". Damage formula has been modified to make gunfights dangerous, fast, and hard.
I love RPGs, don't get me wrong, but sometimes I cannot stand fighting over leveled enemies or bosses that take 25-30 shots to kill simply because they are higher in level. This mod attempts to overhaul combat to make it seem more grounded and fast. Most enemies (including yourself) will die in 2-3 hits. Armor doesn't help too much and V.A.T.S is no longer useful. This mod makes gunfights challenging and fun to just go absolutely insane (kill the entire legion or the NCR at your leisure...just make sure you draw faster and find cover!!). Here's some more of the details:
- V.A.T.S is disabled (sorta). You can use it to pause time, think, and scan for active enemies...but no targeting allowed!!
- Cripple or die: Bullets hurt. A lot. If it doesn't kill you, chances are it will cripple you or knock you and other enemies down...
- As portable as Pip Boy himself! Since this mod is incredibly light and modifies the damage formula, it will work with any added weapons, added quests, and other weird nudity mods that you may or may not have installed into Fallout NV.
NOTE: This mod is by no means an improvement in the eyes of most and I am aware of that. In fact, let's be honest...it pretty much unbalances the game. However, I have had my fun with this mod and am putting this out there for any other players (and friends of mine) if they want to install this mod. It is recommended that you play through the whole of Fallout NV before playing with this mod. As far as I have seen, there are no game breaking bugs with this mod. I may update this mod eventually to add a little bit of balance and other features (I would love to add different cripples and further modifications to damage but I am fairly new to modding)

Paste the downloaded file into the Data folder of Fallout New Vegas. Simple!!
