This is a batch file only, which should be placed in the root of your Fallout
installation, that is where the FalloutNV.exe resides.
With this file you can hire Cass instantly the first time you meet, without
going through "You Can Depend on Me", which becomes a bore after some
playthroughs. When you run the script you can immediately starts the "Heartache
by the Number" quest and it is possible to complete it at the Van Graffs.
To prevent Cass from getting killed I recommend the "Save Cass" mod.
USAGE: Open a console with the "~" key and type/enter: bat bat-hire-cass
I used this on one long playthrough with no problems, but your mileage may vary.
