This mod introduces an ability inspired by the Bandana from Red Dead Redemption. If you equip a non-faction mask while undetected, you become temporarily incognito. Any fame or infamy you have is temporarily removed from any of the factions you have a reputation with. Your reasons for wearing the mask are your own. You might be a vigilante taking justice into their own hands against someone too powerful and connected to attack openly or a wanted desperado seeking their fortune at the barrel of a gun.

Any fame or infamy gained while your face is disguised will be removed upon taking off the mask as long as you're hidden while doing so. Be very careful though, as getting caught while taking off the mask does not remove any fame or infamy previously gained while wearing it. So, for example, if you mask up and go on a rampage resulting in a temporary reputation of Vilified with a faction but are observed by a survivor while removing your disguise and then run and hide to try to put it back on and take it off, your new reputation will be permanent and replace whatever you had before. Keep in mind that all the same quirks of the faction disguise system apply here. So if you attack a group of Powder Gangers in a mask and kill some but leave others alive and run away, the ones you left alive might still attack you when you come back without the mask even though the infamy you gained was removed. Just think of it as people remembering your description and what you were wearing, so be smart about it. Note that, unlike its inspiration, wearing a mask does not prevent gaining or losing Karma as you will still know what you did.

On the other hand, your Charisma, Speech and Barter will all be reduced while in disguise as it's more difficult to be understood and people are naturally suspicious of an individual concealing their identity in public. However, you will gain a tiny increase to your Rad Resistance.

In order to gain this ability, take the perk "Dramatis Persona" which requires Sneak 45+ and becomes available at Level 4.

This mod adds two new masks, the Black Bandana and Red Bandana, which are face wraps made from the helmets of Legion Recruits and Legion Primes, respectively, as well restoring a cut non-faction variant of the White Glove Society's enigmatic masks.

Faction headgear is excluded since that would logically just result in folks assuming you're a member of that faction. Additionally, truly unique headwear is excluded due to them being one of a kind and, thus, recognizable to the individual possessing them.

The full of list of additional face coverings which can be used as disguises with this perk are:

This mod should be compatible with everything but it does require the xNVSE and JIP LN NVSE script extenders to work correctly. Load order should not matter. In order for the new icons to look their best, I also recommend the mod Vanilla UI+ by Axonis which supports upscaled UI.

To make any other masks not already included have the same effect (including ones from other mods), simply load the plugin in xEdit and add the desired mask to the formlist MMDisguiseList [FLST:XX000AE2].
