This mod adds an original Glastinghouse Turbo Plasma Gatling to the game, featuring custom meshes, 4K textures, sounds, icons, and scripted ammo counter.

For a number of years now, work has been proceeding in order to bring perfection to the crudely conceived idea of a weapon that would not only supply inverse reactive current for use in unilateral phase detractors, but would also be capable of automatically synchronizing cardinal grammeters. Such a weapon is the "Turbo Gatling Plasma.“ Basically, the only new principle involved is that instead of power being generated by the relative motion of conductors and fluxes, it is produced by the modial interaction of magneto-reluctance and capacitive directance. Engineers at Glastinghouse Electric and Robco Industries have partnered to bring this device into operation for military applications, utilizing the principles of electrostatic attraction and gyroscopic stabilization to dramatically improve the firepower of modern powered infantry.

The Turbo Gatling Plasma is essentially a three-barreled, gyroscopically stabilized, pneumatically-enhanced plasma caster. It uses a large 3-phase AC induction motor to simultaneously compress air to several hundred atmospheres of pressure and power the rotating stabilizer. An onboard 3-phase step-up plasma transformer generates the high-voltage, high-current power necessary to ionize these high-pressure gases. Power is supplied to these devices by a common 1040VDC Electron Charge Pack, whose output is run through a mercury thyratron inverter to generate variable frequency polyphase power. The extreme high pressure and temperature of the ionized gas provides more than enough accelerating power to propel the plasma to sufficiently high velocity without the need for electromagnetic accelerators as are standard in traditional plasma rifles. However, the plasma still needs to be electromagnetically contained and stabilized for accurate flight, which is accomplished by the 6-phase rotary fusor-stabilizer which the plasma bolts pass through before they exit the weapon. Removing the need for powered acceleration frees up enough battery power to allow the weapon to fire 3 times faster than a regular plasma caster, with only slightly reduced thermal effect. Additionally, the plasma bolts explode on impact due to the extreme pressures holding the bolt together, and experiments with deuterium gas as a plasma medium have resulted in nuclear fusion aiding the plasma's velocity and explosive power.

Work on the Turbo Gatling Plasma began in April 2077 after Robco received a contract to develop more advanced plasma weaponry for the US military following Colonel Moretti's complaints against the Winchester P94's lack of firepower in relation to its large size. Robco employed its recently acquired branch of REPCONN to begin work on a more efficient compact plasma rifle, while it contracted its long-time business partner Glastinghouse Electric who supplied the heavy laser weaponry for Robco's line of securitron robots to work on a heavy weapon with superior firepower. By the time of the great war, REPCONN had only managed to produce one working prototype rifle, while Glastinghouse had already cleared their prototype and tooled up for mass production to satisfy government contracts. However, only a very limited number were made and delivered before the bombs dropped.

Due to the large size of the model, I recommend using a higher-than-standard FOV.



Special Features

The gun has a simple scripted digital ammo counter which gives a readout of the number of rounds in the magazine, which I wrote using NVSE-exclusive functions, so NVSE is required for the ammo counter to work.

This mod uses scripts which require NVSE.

Location

The Turbo Gatling Plasma and its mods can only be found in the Enclave Remnants' Bunker. However, there is a small chance (25% every few days) that the weapon will be sold at the Silver Rush.

Stats

The gun is extremely powerful, between a regular plasma rifle and a plasma caster in damage per shot but greatly outclassing every plasma weapon in the game in DPS since it's fully automatic. Additionally, the bolts explode on impact doing 10 points of area damage, this stacks with the beam splitter mod for a total of 30 extra points of damage per shot plus the 30% bonus to base damage. Get wrecked, food builds.  However, it's not very accurate at all due to compromising bolt stability for power and rapidity, and it's one of the heaviest weapons in the game.
