About this mod

If your Tumbleweeds quit their Tumblin', this simple mod will make that defect much less noticeable, and without breaking quests either. Read on!

IMPORTANT NOTICE!

This mod (and other mod developments of mine regarding Fallout: New Vegas) are now on indefinite hiatus.

Current Events, Natural Disasters, Environmental Factors and Rapidly Declining Health have forced me to put my focus on things of greater importance first and foremost.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and I thank all those who have shown care and support in these troubling times.

My mods will remain up on Nexus, but will not be updated or maintained. I hope for and appreciate your understanding.

[What This Is]

Simple little workaround for the infamous "Tumbleweeds Not Tumbling Anymore!" bug that still doesn't seem fixed, even in the YUP. At first it seemed like the YUP fixed it via it's own model changes, but after a while, the tumbleweeds did stop their rolling.

While it's got a weird way of doing it, this mod doesn't break things as it's a simple model change via a plugin. It's even merge-able into bashed patches, so you can save a load-order slot and all that.

[What This Does]

+Changes the model and model path of the physical object that is "TumbleweedNV" to the microscopic "TinyTumbleweedNV".
+Avoids messing up quests early-game because no in-game objects were deleted or edited, no scripts deleted or edited, nada. And guess what, it just works.
+Tested on both a new save and one that already had the tumbleweeds frozen. Both had them seem to work as intended, with them being near-invisible or just plain unnoticeable at the size they are.

[Update History]

(1.0)

+Initial release. Worked for my needs, and I ain't greedy when it comes to helping others. So here it'll be! Find any bugs, lemme know.

[Model Credits]

Bethesda/Obsidian, for the original tumbleweed model. The one included with this mod is heavily modified to be tiny, microscopic even. Still, credit to where it's due.

NifSkope, for the toolset that allowed for this kind of tweaking to the model.

[Installation]

Install using a mod manager like ModOrganizer2, and set it near the bottom of your load order. If you're using a Bashed or Smashed patch, load them before those but after everything else. You could even use Wrye Bash and include it in a patch to save a load order spot.

[Uninstallation]

If for whatever reason you feel like having your tumbleweeds big and inert again, remove "AC_TinyTumbleweeds" from the load order or uninstall it completely. If using a Bashed patch, rebuild said patch after uninstalling.

[Conclusion]

Hopefully this works out for all who try it out, so far it has for me. If you find any major gamebreaking bugs (aside from the bug that may have lead to the creation of this mod in the first place), please let me know!

Thank you for viewing! Have fun out there!
