About this mod

This mod adds the classic Fallout 2 outfit: The Bridgekeeper's Robes. These bright purple robes were worn by the eponymous Bridgekeeper during his special encounter in a nod to the fantastically comical yet well-written Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Keep a shovel handy.

Conception:
I was inspired to create this mod after finding (and playing with) mods from Nephael and Pax1138 that added the classic Children of the Cathedral robes to 3 and New Vegas. Their mods are great and I recommend checking them out if you wish to see other creators' takes on classic Fallout content:

Naphael's Children of the Cathedral Experience
Pax1138's Children of the Cathedral Robes

Requirements:

New Vegas Script Extender or xNVSE
Fallout New Vegas DLCs Dead Money and Lonesome Road

Compatibility:
No problems thus far, but won't play nice with mods that directly edit the same location where the outfit is found

Installation:
Drop the files included in the zip archive inside "Data" into your New Vegas data directory. Activate with your preferred launcher.

Bugs or Issues:
None so far. Let me know if there are any bugs, drop a comment and I'll respond as soon as I can.

This mod uses retextures of Father's Elijah's robes from Dead Money created by me using GIMP and the color palette taken from the original sprites. I used texture work to remove the pipes and other technical doodads from the robes to match them to the original as well. The female mesh, which came with the extra parts removed, uses a modified version of Father's Elijah's robes from MuteSignal's armor mod T6M Father Elijah that makes the robes more feminine (as the original mesh provided by Obsidian is clearly a slightly modified male mesh, causing female characters to look very burly). This mesh was used and included with their express permission.

The stats are taken directly from the Fallout 2 original, modified for use with New Vegas's combat. The entire set provides the same level of protection as a suit of combat armor (!) while also providing a minor boost to your Energy Weapons skill and energy resistance. (Based on the description of the original, the robes managed to survive countless run-ins with laser and plasma weapons.) The hood also provides a bonus to Perception like those shady wasteland hats, but only during the daytime. (Moonlight isn't too bright, right?) The one-time message you get also follows a reworded version of the original's description, just for fun.

The Mod:

Headgear Stats -
Name - Bridgekeeper's Hood
DT - 3
Weight - 1 unit
Value - 1 Cap
Health - 50
Repair - Stormchaser Hat(s)
Effect - +1 Perception (This effect only triggers during the daytime)

Outfit Stats -
Name - Bridgekeeper's Robes
DT - 15
Weight - 9 units
Value - 4 Caps
Health - 400
Repair - Brotherhood of Steel Scribe Robe(s)
Effect - +2 Energy Weapons, +10% Energy Resistance

Both the hood and robes are affected by the "In Shining Armor" perk (provided you have a mod that restores the functionality of this extremely bugged perk...)

Location:
In a shallow grave next to the destroyed train bridge over Crescent Canyon, east of Ivanpah Dry Lake and Nipton. Look for the grave marker and be sure to bring a shovel!

You may also notice there are two options for this mod: the "Standard" mesh and the "Alternative" mesh. This is because one version uses a retextured version of Veronica's Oasis hood (a base game asset) and another a retextured hood model sourced from Paladin Voci and the New California mod team's Classic Fallout Robes mod. I messaged them over a year ago asking for permission or contact details for his mod team to see if it was alright if I included their mesh in my mod, but have yet to recieve a response. As such, I will offer two versions of my mod for the time being: one using the base game asset and one using the asset from that mod. I apologize in advance if I am infringing upon their work and will promptly remove their asset from my mod if I receive any form of response from Paladin Voci or the New California Team requesting me to not use their content.

As always, I'm open to criticism and suggestions!
