About this mod
Vanilla plus lore friendly additions and changes to the 188 Trading Post with addition of eight AI packaged NPCs and a dog, including underpass vendors and extra NCR troopers. FPGE compatible.

With MSO 188 not updated as yet and building a fresh vanilla plus load order a few months back, I decided to have a look at the 188 Trading Post which admittedly a little neglected at release. Some common mods like Outside Bets and Uncut Wasteland slightly improve the area, but the underpass in particular seemed a little sparse.
As with Jacobstown Refined and my other Refined series of mods in draft, I wanted to address missing polish in an immersive, vanilla plus and lore friendly manner with no Navmesh edits or major gameplay changes. Please see the key changes summary below and author images (vanilla textures with cut content mods) for a good grasp on what this mod changes.
Key changes summary:
- Improved the north sentry post and added a manned south sentry post
- Cluttered the NCR tent and added an extra bed to allow for the extra NCR NPCs
- Added three merchants (two as vendors) and one guard to the underpass under a 188 Merchant Faction
- Provided work areas and stalls for the new merchants utilising the south half of the underpass
- Improved the Gun Runners area with additional idles for guards
- Brahmin water and feed station in the underpass and a poorly performing food garden
- Improved Ezekiel's camp and added sandboxing
- Upgraded Arms Merchant truck with improved sandboxing and own bed
- Usable crafting bench to the underpass truck trailer used by the mechanic
- Added wandering dog that also guards Michelle when sleeping
- Custom 188 sign at the south approach to the Slop & Shop
- Cooking equipment, modified clutter and extra idles in vicinity of and in the Slop & Shop
- PT area for the NCR troopers
- Outhouse with idle
- Two cardboard beds behind the underpass truck trailer
- Seating and clutter in and around the large mobile home as well as an extra bed
- Improved NCR Heavy Trooper sandboxing (no smoking or sitting in power armor)
For gameplay balance I have limited the scope of the added vendors in both items and caps for bartering. The mechanic will only sell mechanic items and the food trader only a selection of fresh food. The stock trader displays mostly static items used in caravanning and therefore to limit cap sinks and repetitive basic dialogue is not a vendor option.
Veronica is untouched for compatibility, but the extra NPC sandboxing around her masks her stationariaism (not a word) a little better, particularly the dog. If you also run a suite of cut content mods like me then there should be sufficient beds with the addition of an extra bed in the mobile home and two cardboard beds behind the truck trailer in the underpass.
I will list all the changes and lore reasoning in the docs readme if you are interested, but as always if you run the mod and can't tell without using the console then I've done my job I would think.
Compatibility
This mod was play tested with a majority core of Viva New Vegas (external link) bug fixes and utilities with the major exception being the Improved AI (Navmesh Overhaul Mod). I also play tested with Uncut Wasteland (Outside bets compatible) and New Vegas Uncut - Panzermann's Edition (New Vegas Uncut and Outside Bets) to see the effects of those extra NPCs created and provide the extra beds in an immersive way.

Uninstallation
Reverse of installation via your Mod Manager. Probably not safe to uninstall mid playthrough and generally not recommended anyway.

There are suggestion, lore and compatibility topics available particularly for lengthy discussions and elaboration best served outside the general posts. I am happy to entertain suggestions for consideration to improve the mod in line with the original intent of lore friendly vanilla plus.
My caveats for suggestions are
The areas available within the gaps of existing navmesh are virtually maxxed out by this mod as well as assets in navmeshed areas that wouldn't affect NPC pathing. There is one large gap where the car hulk is on the bridge, but anything I put there looks out of place or over done. Further changes would likely be to surrounding wilderness or tweaks to existing content.
Lastly for compatibility reasons I have no intent to add or modify navmesh and although I am more than capable of custom AI voices in Elevenlabs, I don't think these NPCs are worth the effort as basic street vendors with no quests.

Please use the bugs tab for technical issues not related to mod compatibility or load order issues. More information generally the better to help diagnose in GECK or FNVEdit.

The following mods not listed in compatibility were tested with this mod and will probably enhance your experience in game:
The Living Desert - Travelers Patrols Consequences Increased Population and more - More living, more immersion.
New Vegas Uncut - Outside Bets, Uncut Wasteland or both - Various versions and compatibility combos, but all generally add cut NPCs to the 188 Trading Post to make the area feel more of a thoroughfare.
Texture replacer for the vanilla blue bedrolls.
Disclaimer
Please have a play before hand and see if it is good for your mod list and load order on a new playthrough. If a more credentialed mod author states something in the comments I would probably take their word over mine, but I am getting better in FNVEdit and GECK.
