About this mod
This standalone mod brings back a Project Nevada fan favorite, modernized and ready to be used!
- Requirements
- Permissions and credits
- Changelogs
Despite the current state of Project Nevada and how it is talked about in today's modern modding climate, I have the firm belief that it has left a precious legacy of fun playthroughs to many of us. I wanted to honor this nostalgic era by bringing back my favorite weapon from PN, the Tesla Rifle Prototype. Rebalanced, and featuring a B42 Optics config as well as a kNVSE reload animation.
Now comes with a TTW version that places the weapon in the Fallout 3 world!
Credits
Gotta start with what matters most: I take absolutely no credit for any of the content featured in this mod. I want to credit these great people for the entire content of this mod:
- Kikaimegami, for making the original Liberty Rifle that was used as a base for the Tesla Rifle Prototype in PN, no chance for this weapon to exist without them. The permissions for the original mod are open as long as the ESP is not copied (which wasn't the case here), but permission confirmation is impossible to obtain due to what will be mentioned at the bottom of the credits section.
- The Project Nevada Team, for allowing me and countless to make awesome memories in the early years of modded NV and obviously bringing this weapon to NV
- Zealotlee, who was a member of the Project Nevada Team, for helping me with my dumb questions, allowing me to use the Project Nevada Legacy branding and being an absolutely great person (install ZL Armaments Remastered now)
- Rockbiter & Hitman for their titanic work in the animations deparment, which helps bring this weapon in the current era of NV gameplay. Rock's animations are under creative commons which, if I understood correctly, allows the usage of his file with his right to ask for removal should he want to. I'm sorry if I have misunderstood this and will promptly remove the anim file if I should. Hitman granted permission for the use of his anims.
- Audley for being epically swag and helping with perms info
- The xNVSE Discord server for being full of friends
Unfortunately, Kikaimegami is completely off the grid and has been for years. I have tried to find ways to contact them, to no success. I am therefore obviously willing to take this mod down if there is any issue regarding permissions, or if the community agrees that it isn't an appropriate upload. Their mod seems to have open perms so I thought it would be ok to upload this port of the weapon.
The amazing Audley gathered some info regarding perms for me:

Some yapping
Now some reading for anyone who's willing to digest some straight yap: 2020 was my first time replaying New Vegas for a very long time, and I discovered the OG version of Viva New Vegas, which at the time was still handled by Qolore. I learned about how some mods were broken and outdated by today's standards, including Project Nevada. I enjoyed hundred of hours of gameplay since and never looked back; yet on my first playthrough of 2020, I swore that the Tesla Rifle Prototype was missing from my game, and I legit searched youtube and the wiki for it. Then it kicked: that weapon was actually modded from PN. Felt dumb, coped and decided that I'd wait for someone to port it some day. Now I did it as a small learning project in my humble journey into NV modding.
My intention with this upload is to pay respects to this era of NV modding and make that nostalgia a permanent part of my game (and yours if you give a damn about this rifle)
As I am a still a newbie when it comes to modding, feedback will be greatly appreciated!
