About this mod
Alters the look and feel of the Victory Rifle unique sniper rifle found in the Sniper's Shack up north from DC. FO3 lacks any real feeling of heavy snipers or anti material rifles, this mod alleviates that a little while making the Victory Rifle much more sought after. Allows it to be modified with sniper rifle mods and a new custom mod.

The Fafnir overhaul changes the look of the rifle, with this mod installed as well, and without any weapon modifications on the rifle, it appears as a normal sniper rifle with an American flag texture on it. If you put any mods on it, it converts it to how this mod makes it look, which it should look like by default but I had trouble finding out why the Fafnir overhaul overrides this mod even when this mod is located further down in the load order.
Either way, it is only visual, and it bothers me as the mod author, but seeing as you can get the custom mod for it in Lucas Simms's home to the left when you walk in his door in the filing cabinets, you should have no trouble making this weapon look how it is intended. Normal sniper rifles, and any other weapon cannot be equipped with the custom modification, so it should be installed on the rifle as soon as you get your hands on it. This should deny the Fafnir overhaul from overriding how it looks.
Now that you are here, this is where the description really starts.
Base Fallout 3 has no big ol snipers or heavy ranged weapons like Fallout New Vegas does. Now TTW does allow you to solve that problem, but its just not good enough so that's where I come in. If you are a true Fallout 3 vet, you use the Victory Rifle and Dart Gun to cheese behemoths and anything you can't normally kill very easy, so I figured why not make it do both?
This mod simply introduces the Victory Rifle to cocaine and Gangnam Style by giving it a tiny AOE (invisible explosion of 1 unit) that does guaranteed knockdown on hit, a bit of damage, a handful of force, and is silent. It is meant to be a direct impact bonus, but I decided to make it a 1 unit AOE cause why not. It "can" but realistically won't get a multikill or multiknockdown assuming there are more than one target in super close proximity. 1 unit AOE is only enough to actually do anything if you aim directly down at your feet when you fire it, like straight down. There essentially is no AOE, but it does exist.
This can and will knock you to your feet or kill you if you look straight down and shoot the floor beneath you. I'd say be careful shooting it up close but... ehhhhh, its a non issue. If you are in a gunfight in a sewer, with this sniper rifle, this ranged heavy sniper rifle, for sniping, and you accidentally get caught in the AOE... man.. color me more impressed than how impressive it is that I couldn't figure out how to fix the conflict with that mod mentioned above.
It does 100 base damage and has 100 durability. It is worth 7777 caps and has a minimum range of 777 with a max range of 7777. It weighs 12lbs and can be dropped to 7 with the weight modification, and the durability can be buffed to 150 with the custom modification found in Lucas Simms's shack. When you equip a suppressor on it, it alters the model a little bit cause it looks cooler. Its a big ol suppressor that covers the barrel. It looks tight. It has a 1.5x crit multiplier and does 55 crit damage, both less than normal. It has a base 50% VATS hit chance, higher than you at getting a chick to come home with you from a night out.
It is loud when firing without the suppressor, enemies will be alerted, suppress that bitch. It uses Carbon Fiber Parts and Suppressor from the normal sniper rifle, in addition to the custom modification that increases its durability. I didn't change how or where you find it, though I may change some stuff about this mod or add to it, or nerf it honestly. I use it in my game but don't like it being so oppressive so I might nerf it in the future, we will see. This was a private mod to begin with but it rabbit holed to where we are now.
Enjoy.
