Since the weapon was cut from Fallout 3, you can't blame Bethesda I suppose.
This was terrible so the diffuse has been heavily edited, though it retains the original design. It looks tolerable in 1st person despite having a tiny part right in your face, this could be improved by the TTW team if they reposition the weapon. These Improvised weapon textures also cover certain components.
