DESCRIPTION: If there's one place I've always found poorly designed, it's the home of that good old doctor. It's huge, with an absolutely insane ceiling height, and it doesn't follow the exterior model design. This mod completely recreates the house to make it more in line with its exterior model. The result is a much smaller house and, in my opinion, a cozier one.
All the pickable items from the vanilla game have been retained, just repositioned.
The design now resembles the exterior model, with windows where they are supposed to be (approximately).
Navmeshed properly, with few cover spots in case a fight occurs.
Lighting overhaul by reusing the original light sources.
Perfectly compatible with the vanilla game (the game's opening sequence still works).
A few small improvements have been made to the vanilla scripts to slightly modify the house after the game's beginning: the chair on which the doc sits at the very start has been moved slightly to no longer be in the middle of the path, and the single-seat couch you're invited to sit on has been replaced with the more common version, which has three seating positions (right, center, left) instead of just left. Those changes are happening after the character creation process. Trigger boxes have been disabled and marked for delete after use to improve performances and an additional dialog line will be said by the doc while walking towards the couch for mental exam (this line is in vanilla but I'm sure you never heard it). Doc Mitchell Tweaked Scripts from The Bazaar of Z is included with a few tweaks. It's better to start a new game to fully enjoy the mod.
COMPATIBILITY: Let's face it, mods using the house (they are many) are unlikely to be compatible without a patch. I'm providing here some patches. The mod may be compatible with simple meshes and textures replacers without any issues. Be sure to load the mod after any navmeshes replacer mod. Be sure to load the mod after YUP. Other conflicts may be fixed by simply loading Doctor's Houseafter the conflicting mod, as long as the conflicting mod is tagged as ESM. Example: Semitransparent Door Glass(plugin version) or even Vanilla Placement Fixes are compatible this way.
