This mod totally does away with the upgrade system, and tries to make the layout a bit more realistic without changing it entirely.
I made the radios work, tuned to Radio New Vegas, and I added a working hob to the oven.
I changed the music from The Glow to a mix of Modoc + Freeside suite + Corporation ruins suite. I like this music. It sounds kind of terrible with the radio on though. You can really easily delete this change if you don't like it.
I don't know what to say about this mod. I started it nearly a year ago, got 90% of the way there, and then abandoned it until yesterday. This is baby's first navmesh. I tried to test it and I think nobody stands on tables any more, but I ran into the aggressive L38 Boone glitch which I've never had before; it feels like an omen... But I know they can all follow you into every room, and they don't get stuck on the comedically long dining table any more, so it's good enough for me!

Needs Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues and Lonesome Road
This mod uses some of the Ultra Luxe tileset. I have a texture replacer in the screenshots which I think is from Lux Aeterna, but I know I edited it, so maybe it's half that and half something else (helpful, I know). I hope it's still cute with vanilla textures. You'll see the difference in the kitchen (bar and backsplash) and the big bathrooms.
This mod will definitely be ugly without my fix for the lobby carpet! which I made for it. 11 months ago...
But it only needs the DLCs. The rest is cosmetic.
Have fun in your extremely red new home!
- The weird bathroom and its sitting area(????) becomes a dressing room through to an ensuite for the master bedroom + a utility room through to guest bathroom from the main lobby
- The guest bedroom becomes the new kitchen and dining room
- The former kitchen and dining room becomes the guest suite with a toilet and 2 bedrooms (one is 'for' Veronica & Christine, the other is 'for' Arcade & Raul, but they won't use 'their' beds and you can do whatever obviously) (there's a sleeping marker on the sofa for Cass but idk if she or anyone else will actually use it) (and obviously Boone is in with you)
- The living room is rearranged. The snowglobe stand is gone: the snowglobes are mostly in the bookshelves there, but a few are scattered in the bedrooms
