About this video

I'm not sure what's making my companions do this.

Enemies run away and THEN attack instead of running at me like usual.

Some NPCs just stand around instead of following a sandbox.

Any ideas what's causing this?

May be multiple issues. There's a few deprecated NPC AI mods out there that will most definitely break all the time with TTW, and commonly break with vanilla New Vegas, e.g. the XFO AI mods for healing or combat. TTW itself changes a lot with how AI works so the possibilities are large. Navmeshing could also add on to this.

EDIT: It actually seems that from previous image posts, you're not actually using TTW (?), you're using Requiem for the Capital Wasteland. It's deprecated to hell and back and has innumerous issues with navmeshing and AI errors in particular.

Thanks for this reply! Ive taken out all of the mods that are AI related, like cover based stealth and enhanced enemy awareness. no change so far.

also yeah that old fallout 3 mod was kind of strange. I couldn't take it any longer and this is now TTW proper.
i was making a stupid error during install but i realized what i was doing wrong. all good now! except this problem...

I am leaning towards a navmesh issue because of the way enemies behave. They don't spin or walk aimlessly like above, they don't move at all. Sometimes that happens to my companions but usually they just spin like this. Or follow me for a few paces and then veer off and spin. As if they got stuck on something invisible.
